URGENT: Help Keep Three Haitian Schools Open for 525 Children

Three small schools in Boukan Richard and Garcin—
St. Veronique Primary, St. Veronique Secondary, and Christ the King Primary—are the only schools available to the children in their communities. Families are deeply committed to education, even when they can only pay a few dollars a year. Many students attend on scholarship.

The classrooms are simple, and some don’t even have walls—but the teachers and students show remarkable dedication and hope.

Right now, these schools are at risk of closing.

They do not have the funds to pay teacher salaries for the 2026–2027 school year.

Raising Haiti Foundation is working to raise $54,000 to cover:
✔ Salaries for 45 teachers and staff
✔ School supplies
✔ Exams
✔ Teacher training
—everything needed to keep the schools open next year.

YOU can help ensure these children do not lose their only chance at an education.

👉 Donate online (monthly giving has the biggest impact!) at https://raisinghaiti.org/donate.html
👉 Or mail a check to:
Raising Haiti Foundation

Arlington, VA 22207

Unless you specify otherwise, all donations through April 15 will go directly to supporting these three schools.

Your generosity can open doors.

Because of You, Haiti Has Hope ❤️🇭🇹

As 2025 comes to a close, our hearts are full of gratitude. Because of your generosity—and the courage and resilience of the Haitian people—hope is taking root even in the most difficult circumstances.

✨ Here’s what YOU made possible this year:

🌾 Families in Crisis Found Stability
After Hurricane Melissa, families received emergency food and seeds, goats to restore incomes, and building supplies to repair homes—preventing starvation and restoring dignity.

🏃🏽‍♀️ Displaced Families Found Hope
As violence forced millions to flee, 1,000 displaced families received food, seeds, goats, and school support—giving them the means to begin again.

🌱 Livelihoods Grew & the Land Healed
Through our Tree Currency Program, thousands of farmers increased incomes, earned seeds and tools, attended trainings, and planted over 127,000 trees.

👩🏽‍💼 Women Built Stronger Futures
672 women received microloans to start or grow businesses, support their families, and step into leadership.

🎓 Students Are Learning & Leading
Your generosity funded scholarships, internships, teacher salaries, and school supplies for 1,300 students—many of whom would not be in school without you.

💛 Together, We Are Raising Haiti.
Each achievement reflects your belief in the strength and potential of the Haitian people. Thank you for walking with us, believing in Haiti, and helping raise hope where it is needed most.

As the year ends, please consider making an end-of-year gift to help this vital work continue into 2026.

🌍✨ This Giving Tuesday, You’re Changing Futures in Haiti ✨🌍

Today, we’re inviting you to support one of the most powerful programs transforming lives in Medor and Sarrazin:

💪🌱 Women-Focused Microcredit Program

Since 2020, this program—implemented by the Smallholder Farmers Alliance—has become a lifeline for women with limited access to credit. What started with 50 women per community has now grown to 672 women receiving loans to build small businesses, improve food security, and grow as leaders.

✨ 100% loan repayment rate
✨ Women support each other through elected “families”
✨ Training in business skills & leadership
✨ Real stories of transformation — like Mrs. Alimène, who expanded her market business, bought livestock, and now helps support her family and community

For women in these communities—where the median income is only $357 a year—access to credit is truly transformational. It advances No Poverty, Gender Equality, and stronger, more resilient local economies.

❤️ Your Giving Tuesday Gift Will:

• Fund new loans
• Grow existing women-run businesses
• Expand training & leadership development
• Directly empower the next woman entrepreneur

Because RHF is 100% volunteer-staffed, $98.35 of every $100 you give goes directly to programs in Haiti.

👉 Will you help a Haitian woman take her next step forward today?

Donate online at https://raisinghaiti.org/donate.html

Thank you for believing in the strength and resilience of Haitian women and their communities.

Our friends in Haiti need help. 🇭🇹
Hurricane Melissa devastated the communities Raising Haiti Foundation supports, and so far only $3,000 of the $38,415 needed has been raised.

Families have lost homes, crops, animals—and many are struggling just to find food.

RHF has a recovery plan ready to go: emergency food, seeds, goats, and home-repair materials. But they cannot move forward without more support.

If you can help, please donate here: https://raisinghaiti.org/donate.html
Or mail a check to: Raising Haiti Foundation, 2513 N Quebec St, Arlington, VA 22207 (Memo: Hurricane Relief)

98.35% of every dollar goes directly to Haitian families.

Please share. Your support makes a real difference. ❤️🙏

🌪️ Hurricane Melissa Devastates Communities We Love in Haiti 💔
Hurricane Melissa’s rains, wind, flooding, and mudslides brought heartbreaking loss to the seven Haitian communities we support:
▪️ 37 deaths
▪️ 112 livestock lost (goats, pigs, cows)
▪️ 294 farms totally or partially destroyed
▪️ 99 homes damaged or destroyed
Across Haiti, over 50% of families already face acute food insecurity. Now, the destruction has made survival even harder.
Meet Mrs. Roselène Cherelus, a single mother of five. The hurricane blew the roof off her home and destroyed her crops. With no safe place to sleep and no food to sell or eat, her family—like so many others—is struggling to survive.
But together, we can help families like hers rebuild. 💪
Our partner, the Smallholder Farmers Alliance, has developed a recovery plan:
🍚 $5,583 — 300 families receive 12.5 kg of rice for immediate food needs
🌱 $7,000 — 300 families receive black bean & corn seeds to replant their crops
🐐 $8,000 — 100 families receive a goat (each will pass along offspring to others)
🏠 $17,830 — Building materials (roof tiles & cement) to repair 99 homes
➡️ Total goal: $38,413
Every gift helps Haitian families rebuild their homes, livelihoods, and hope. ❤️

Because all Raising Haiti Foundation staff are volunteers, just 1.65% of donations go to operating costs. That means $98.35 of every $100 you give goes directly to helping families recover.
🙏 Thank you for standing with Haiti in their time of great need. Your compassion changes lives.

Raising Haiti Foundation is proud to support the agroforestry program in Sarrazin and we are delighted to work with Smallholder Farmers Alliance, which directs the work.
🌿 When land heals, people grow!
In just 6 months, Sarrazin farmers have done more than plant trees.
They’ve planted resilience.
✅ 15+ tree species growing in the community nursery
✅ Thousands of seedlings transplanted across 4 zones
✅ 60 goats shared, 20 new families supported
✅ 147 farmers trained in agroecology and soil care
Agroecology lives here — in every seed, in every kombit.
