🕊️ Today is the International Day of Peace. This year's theme is "Invest in Peace."

At Raising Haiti Foundation, we believe peace grows when people have opportunities to build better lives.

Thanks to your generosity, from January through June 2026 together we have:

🌱 Helped nearly 9,500 farmers in seven Haitian communities increase their incomes through sustainable agroforestry.

🌳 Supported the planting of nearly 90,000 trees, protecting watersheds, restoring the environment, and strengthening food security.

💜 Empowered 464 women with microcredit loans to start or expand small businesses and provide for their families.

📚 Supported 9 rural schools, educating approximately 1,350 students and employing 113 teachers and staff during the 2026–2027 school year.

🎓 Provided 7 university scholarships, preparing Haiti's future nurses, agronomists, business leaders, and computer scientists to return home and serve their communities.

Every tree planted. Every child educated. Every woman empowered. Every farmer equipped.

These are investments in peace.

Because of your incredible generosity, Raising Haiti Foundation reached our fundraising goal for two small rural schools in rural Haiti!

A very special thank you goes to the wonderful couple who inspired so many others by offering $10,000 in matching funds. Their kindness, together with your generous donations, made this dream a reality.

❤️ Because of you:
📚 About 100 children who otherwise might not have been able to attend school this year are now receiving an education.
👩🏽‍🏫 19 teachers and staff have meaningful employment, allowing them to continue educating and encouraging Haiti's children.

This victory is part of something even bigger.

Together with schools we funded earlier this year, Raising Haiti Foundation is now helping support nine schools during the 2026–2027 school year, providing education for approximately 1,350 students and employment for 113 teachers and staff.

NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND: Across the United States, children are returning to classrooms, meeting new teachers, opening new notebooks, and beginning another school year filled with possibility.
In rural Haiti, many children are still waiting. At Our Lady of the Assumption Primary School near Cap-Haïtien and Renaissance Primary School near Gonaïves children and their families are striving to overcome poverty and prolonged drought conditions that devastate farming communities.
The Raising Haiti Foundation is not only hoping to enable over 100 children to attend school this year with supplies and nourishing meals, a generous partner has offered to match every donation, dollar for dollar, through September 15. Thank you for supporting education for all children!

Today is International Youth Day.

Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, dream, and build a brighter future.

Last month, Raising Haiti Foundation shared the stories of two small rural Haitian schools that urgently need support. Thanks to your incredible generosity, we've already raised $9,100—thank you! ❤️

But we still need $14,400 to keep these schools open for the 2026–2027 school year.

📚 Our Lady of the Assumption Primary School serves children who are orphaned, displaced, or whose families cannot afford an education.

📚 Renaissance Primary School serves a farming community devastated by drought and economic hardship. Many children arrive at school hungry, and their parents cannot afford any school fees.

Together, these schools hope to educate 100 children this year. They provide more than classrooms—they offer children a safe place to learn, receive a meal, and believe in a better future. Both schools welcome students regardless of their religious affiliation.

Education changes lives. It gives children confidence, creates opportunity, and strengthens families and communities.

Education Changes Everything.
Because of your generosity, the seven rural Haitian schools supported by Raising Haiti Foundation now have the resources to pay teachers and purchase school supplies for the 2026–2027 school year. Thank you for making this possible! ❤️

But two more schools have reached out for help.

One serves children who are orphaned, displaced, or whose families cannot afford an education. The other has seen enrollment drop dramatically—not because children don't want to learn, but because parents simply cannot pay tuition in Haiti's worsening economic crisis.

A quality education gives children hope, dignity, and the opportunity to build a brighter future. Together, we can help keep these schools open and their students learning.

🇺🇸🇭🇹 This Juneteenth, we honor the enduring human desire for freedom, dignity, and opportunity.

More than 60 years before Juneteenth, Haiti became the world's first Black republic and the first nation founded by formerly enslaved people who won their freedom. That same spirit of resilience lives on today in people like François Pierre of Medor, Haiti.

Through the Tree Currency Program, supported by Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church and Raising Haiti Foundation and implemented by the Smallholder Farmers Alliance, François has transformed his life from struggling farmer to veterinary technician, community leader, and provider for his family. His story reminds us that true freedom includes the opportunity to learn, work, and build a better future.

🌟 Featured in Ms. Magazine: Mirlanda's Story of Hope and Determination 🌟

At age 30, Mirlanda Sully fled gang violence in Haiti with her young son, carrying only a few clothes and a little food. Arriving in the rural community of Medor with nearly nothing, she began rebuilding her life through a women-focused microcredit program supported by Raising Haiti Foundation and implemented by the Smallholder Farmers Alliance.

Today, Mirlanda is a successful small business owner, a community leader, and a devoted mother working to create a brighter future for her son.

Her story reminds us that when women are given access to opportunity, training, and support, entire communities can thrive.
