By accomplishing a series of short-term goals or missions Tonic is moving steadily toward r

ealizing its ultimate goal. Tonic Theater Company presents occasional public readings in casual salons, providing audiences and artists a live experience of scripts under consideration. In 2015 Tonic partnered with the Cultural Projects of the National Academy of Sciences (CPNAS) to present a reading of the Sloan Foundation Award winning play Moving Bodies, by Arthur Giron, at the Nation Academy of Sciences headquarters on the National Mall. In January 2017, Tonic partnered with the American Physical Society in Washington, DC to present a reading of the play Reykjavik, about the historic meeting between Reagan/Gorbachev, by Pulitzer Prize winning author Richard Rhodes (The Making of the Atomic Bomb). For the past four years Tonic Theater Company has been invited to participate in the Page–To–Stage Festival at the John F. Looking forward from early successes upcoming goals include Tonic’s first fundraising benefit and first full production. Tonic is also moving toward its goal to live stream its productions. This technology will enable Tonic to extend its mission to people of all walks of life around the world.

Judith Jamison, dancer, choreographer, and artistic director of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, has died.

Judith Jamison, best known for her work as a dancer, choreographer and artistic director of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, has died, according to reports. Jamison reportedly passed away on Saturday at New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center after an illness. She was 81.
