DC LULAC Council 11041 and LULAC Council 11125 launched their annual scholarships on March 1, seeking the best and brightest DC scholars.

LULAC 11041 Scholarship
Celebrating over 30 years of philanthropic giving, the council offers grants ranging from $500 to $2,000. Eligible applicants include DC high school seniors, college students, or those returning to school. The committee evaluates academic performance alongside community service. Key details:

LULAC Lambda Scholarship
LULAC Lambda kicks off its 2026 Scholarship Program, commemorating nine years of support for DC’s LGBTQ+ Latinx students. Since 2018, the initiative has awarded over $30,000 to empower future leaders. DC high school seniors, college students, or those returning to school with a minimum 2.5 GPA are eligible to apply. Candidates with LGBTQ+ social justice advocacy and community service alongside academic merit should apply. Key details:

Last Thursday, LULAC Lambda joined forces with the DC Sisters to raise money for our annual scholarship at Red Bear Brewing. We’re grateful that new LULAC Lambda members Lauri Alvarez, Juan Alvarez and Ed Mejia, joined longtime members Julio Acevedo, Jesse Garcia, Jon Parvez and Deshawn Cook to help raise funds.
