Calling all FGIDC & DMV based fashion designers ✨

We’re excited to share an upcoming designer opportunity in partnership with the Congressional Polo Club in Poolesville and Habitat for Humanity for their Annual Match Day on Saturday, September 26.

Applications are now open for designers in our network who are interested in showcasing their work at this special event. We are looking for designers who can provide full looks, including models and HMUA.

FGIDC members and our designer community are receiving early access before the opportunity opens to the public.

We don’t just call ourselves an international fashion organisation — we live and breathe it. ✈️✨

Our Fashion Historian Chair Peter Williams, Mr Macramé || Atelier, recently travelled to Tokyo on a research trip exploring Sashiko Stitching - the traditional Japanese visible mending technique from the Edo Period (1603 - 1867) rooted in craftsmanship, repair and sustainability.

During the visit, Peter explored the ISSEY MIYAKE designed gallery, 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT , and visited the 国立新美術館 The National Art Center, Tokyo to experience the 100 year anniversary exhibition, celebrating the work and business acumen of legendary Japanese designer ‘Hanae Mori’.

Here’s a small glimpse into the trip and the incredible fashion culture Tokyo has to offer. 🇯🇵✨
