Yesterday, Perdue Farms filed a federal lawsuit challenging corporate whistleblowing cases.
This could demolish protections for food safety, aviation safety, shareholder fraud, and even environmental protection.
Let's go over the story⬇️
The challenge stems from an ongoing case involving our client Craig Watts, a former Perdue chicken grower who exposed dire conditions despite claims they're “humanely raised.”
His story blew up, and inspired books and even movies.
After making his disclosures, Watts filed a whistleblower complaint, alleging retaliation by Perdue.
However, Perdue seeks to block the DOL's administrative proceedings as unconstitutional.
If Perdue’s claim holds, the case will dismantle the administrative process that has long provided accessible justice for whistleblowers.
Perdue is trying to destroy a framework designed to provide justice for who lack the resources for expensive lawsuits.
We're at the forefront of developing and defending their rights.
We will mount a vigorous defense to reject Perdue’s attempt to deny those who suffer retaliation the remedies that Congress has enacted.
