The National Coalition on Black Civic Participation

The National Coalition on Black Civic Participation The National Coalition is dedicated to increasing Black civic engagement, women and girls empowerment and youth civic leadership development.

Founded in 1976, The National Coalition has developed a successful 45-year proven track record for its ability to lead, convene, facilitate and engage effective coalitions that are diverse. The National Coalition’s board, 80 members, twelve (12) state-based affiliates and networks and staff are committed to building on that success in 2021 and beyond. The National Coalition remains the only nation

al historically Black organization that has as its highest priority increasing civic engagement within the Black community. Additionally, the organization serves as an effective convener and coalition builder to address the disenfranchisement of African Americans and other marginalized communities through leadership development, civic engagement and issue organizing including: 1) organizing non-partisan integrated voter empowerment and campaign management training; 2)promoting women and girls health, wealth and wellness; 3)mentoring young Black men and boys on civic leadership and engagement and 4) promoting affordable broadband expansion and adoption in urban and rural communities.
