The National Coalition is dedicated to increasing Black civic engagement, women and girls empowerment and youth civic leadership development.

Founded in 1976, The National Coalition has developed a successful 45-year proven track record for its ability to lead, convene, facilitate and engage effective coalitions that are diverse. The National Coalition’s board, 80 members, twelve (12) state-based affiliates and networks and staff are committed to building on that success in 2021 and beyond. The National Coalition remains the only national historically Black organization that has as its highest priority increasing civic engagement within the Black community. Additionally, the organization serves as an effective convener and coalition builder to address the disenfranchisement of African Americans and other marginalized communities through leadership development, civic engagement and issue organizing including: 1) organizing non-partisan integrated voter empowerment and campaign management training; 2)promoting women and girls health, wealth and wellness; 3)mentoring young Black men and boys on civic leadership and engagement and 4) promoting affordable broadband expansion and adoption in urban and rural communities.

Yesterday, the Power of the Sister Vote Brunch & Early Vote Rally took place at CT Martin Natatorium & Recreation Center in Atlanta! Hosted by Georgia STAND-UP and GA BWR, the October 18 event brought the community together from 1–4 PM.

Yesterday was fire! 🔥

We kicked off the NCBCP BWP “Power of the Sister Vote” GOTV & Democracy Defense National Tour and GA Overload the Polls State-wide Campaign on the first day of Early Voting In GA!

The GA tour stop was led by NCBCP, BWR, GCPA, GA Stand-Up, HBCU Green Fund, BVM, DST, D4 Women in Action and Rise!

With more than 40 partnering organizations supporting the 9 state tour, this is just the beginning. Watch highlights from the kickoff, and let’s carry this energy to the polls!

Today we kicked off the Power of the Sister Vote National Tour in Atlanta, Georgia, with our “Overload the Polls” activation and launch press conference!

Hosted alongside the Georgia Coalition for the People’s Agenda and GA BWR , HBCU Green Fund, and Georgia Stand - UP. at CT Martin Natatorium & Recreation Center, today’s kickoff is about mobilizing voters, making our voices heard, and defending our democracy. The tour is supported by more than 40 partnering organizations.
