In observance of Juneteenth, Pathways to Housing DC will be closed today, June 19.

Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and serves as a time to reflect on freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equity and justice for all. We will resume regular operating hours on Monday.

Congratulations Allswell! We joined community members, partners, and local leaders at the Montgomery County Community Homeless Memorial Service to honor the lives of neighbors who experienced homelessness and passed away in recent years.

The day was especially meaningful for the Pathways family as our own Allswell Ikiriko was recognized with the Terence Hill Memorial Award for his dedication, service, and commitment to the community.

This recognition holds special significance for us. Terence Hill was a beloved Pathways team member whose compassion, advocacy, and impact continue to inspire our work today. To see Allswell honored in Terence's name was a moving tribute to both men and the lasting difference they have made in the lives of others.

Please join us in congratulating Allswell on this well-deserved recognition and in remembering the neighbors whose lives were honored during the service.

A special thank you to Georgetown University Office of Neighborhood Life for this year’s Move Out Drive for their continued partnership and generosity! Through this partnership, we receive clothing, household electronics, kitchen supplies, and other essential wishlist items that directly support neighbors as they transition into housing and rebuild stability.

In the News: This Mental Health Awareness Month, Pathways to Housing DC was featured in a recent article with The Washington Informer written alongside longtime partner CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, highlighting the urgent need for sustained, community-based mental health care across Washington, DC.

As shared, "CareFirst and Pathways to Housing DC share a core understanding: Housing stability and behavioral health are inseparable. Homelessness is not only a housing issue, but also a behavioral health issue, shaped by where and how people live and by their ability to access sustained, coordinated care."

We are grateful for our partnership with CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield and our shared commitment to ensuring neighbors across DC have access to stable housing, coordinated care, and long-term support.

Today, we honor and remember those who served. This Memorial Day, we pause in gratitude for the veterans who gave so much and recommit to supporting those still with us.
Our offices are closed today in observance of the holiday, and we will reopen tomorrow, Tuesday, May 26th.

The proposed includes changes to key housing programs, including fewer vouchers and shifts to rental assistance like ERAP. These programs are essential to helping people stay housed and move into stable housing.

As DC reviews the Mayor’s proposed , our Vice President of Housing First, Will Doyle, spoke before the DC Council to ensure our community’s needs are heard.

The proposed budget includes difficult tradeoffs and cuts across key programs, including housing and behavioral health services. As the budget moves through the Council’s review and revision process, we remain committed to advocating for the resources our community needs and ensuring that the voices of those most impacted are part of the conversation.
