Great news: The Petworth Library will reopen on Sunday, Aug. 23!

The goal of this renovation is to maintain the existing facility and provide a refresh that will ensure the library continues to meet evolving neighborhood needs.

The Friends at Petworth Library look forward to the opening and resuming programming!

The Petworth Library is currently closed though they are working on opening efforts.

We are prepared for the sale at 11:30 a.m. though we may start later depending on when and if the library can open.

The Back to School Used Book Sale has started!

Join us from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm for 50 cent kids books, $1 paperbacks, and $2 hardbacks. Plus merchandise and free kids activities!

We ask that you consider testifying at the DCPL Oversight Hearing on Friday, February 28, 2025 starting at 9:30 am. You can testify in person, virtually, or written correspondence.

Now is the time to show your support and love of DCPL, your neighborhood branch, and the countless patrons who benefit from your good work.

Our Winter Used Book Sale is in full swing!

Running until 3:30, stop down and fill up on 50 cent kids books, $1 paperbacks, and $2 hardbacks. Plus, kids face painting and balloon animals.

All proceeds benefit the Petworth Library, library programming, and getting books out into the community.
