As we launch another year of work in the CASP community,  would like to extend a special Thank You to all who made it possible for us to secure our office and community center facilities for another year in the Volta Region of Ghana!

CASP has exciting things on the horizon! We have envisioned new facets to our already popular health fairs, and will be launching our orange fleshed sweet potato growing project after a generous grant from the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia. Watch for updates on our programming, and for opportunities to make the life changing decision to sponsor one of our farmers!

In 2015 Ghana's child mortality rate (live birth children under the age of 5) was 62 per 1,000 making it approximately the 35th highest recorded child mortality rate, and nearly 1.5 times higher than the world average. Many African nations claimed some of the highest child mortality rates around the world. What can we do to end preventable child death?

CASP held a health fair including community health education, health screening, and HIV testing last Sunday in honor of World AIDS day. There was a great turnout, and we thank the community for their welcome. More details to come!

Today is World AIDS Day. CASP will hold a health fair on Sunday, December 4th in a rural village in the Hohoe municipal region. The village has experienced high rates of HIV in recent years. CASP's health fair will include sexual health education and free HIV testing.

On Sunday, CASP showed our thanks to the community of Hohoe for welcoming us and allowing us to provide programming and services to children, adults, and families. A truly international Thanksgiving dinner was shared, relationships were strengthened, and all invited enjoyed the traditional drumming and dancing of the very talented Happy Kids School and Orphanage in Wegbe!
