Cayman has been a primary supporter of Bike Valet for years now. The Reno Bike Project has allowed us to use their bike valet equipment for years at no cost and it has been major success for us and the community with regular free bike valet now offered by Reno Food Trucks (Food Truck Friday) and Riverside Farmers Market. Collaboration with our bike partners, support from the community and volunteers like Cayman have made the Truckee Meadows Bicycle Alliance possible! Thank you community and welcome incoming president Cayman. Also, thank you outgoing president Thomas Pravia Albright for your years of service catapulting us in new directions with enthusiasm, professionalism and unity with local entities and finally you and Board Member Sue-Ting Chene's drive to create a unique, potentially long-term bike ride. Ciclovia is coming up at Dancing in the Streets by MidTown Reno on July 11 from 9-11am! A long-term, sustainable bike event has been another goal of TMBA and City of Reno Government. With Tom's support, we are getting closer! Hope to see you there when cyclists and anyone rolling with human power is encouraged to take over the streets for a healthy future! It was great to see so many people at tonight’s Cycling Connections/Biggest Little Bike Network films screening & celebration! 📽️🥂

One of the KEY MESSAGES this event made clear is that there is so much support for improving our infrastructure to make it safe and accessible for people of all ages and abilities but that sometimes we need to remind politicians and professional staff of this. In fact this event and the are evidence of our work to step up, educate, and organize around these issues!

Now is a great time to support organizations like TMBA (that's us!) and Nevada Bicycle Coalition and show up to events, ribbon cuttings, rides, and public meetings. We will do our best to help connect you to these. Follow us and support us to help us keep this momentum!

A huge thanks to TMBA Board member and NVBC President, Ky Plaskon for taking the lead on organizing, to filmmaker Richie Bednarski, to fellow panelists City of Reno Government public works director Kerrie Koski and Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County - RTC engineer Sara Going, and to support from Devon Reese, Reno Public Market, The Sierra Nevada Ally and countless other supporters and friends.

Remember when the City of Reno Government and Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County - RTC installed the pilot project downtown? Devon Reese interviewed City of Reno engineer Kerrie Koski about the new, parking-protected bike lanes and candlesticks, the likes of which this city has never seen. Now, these changes and more are being set in stone with more hardened infrastructure that the city has never seen like floating bus stops. Major changes are underway downtown as a result of their work to improve safety and bring people back downtown. We hope to see you at Part One of this documentary where we take stock of what it took to get here with our partners at The Sierra Nevada Ally, Devon Reese, Reno Public Market and the Nevada Bicycle Coalition.
