Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni Visits Qatar: I Discussed Crime, Border and Maritime Security, Regional Developments with My Qatari Counterpart, Along with Economic and Trade Cooperation

Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni discussed his visit to Qatar in an October 6, 2026 IRINN TV (Iran) report about the two-day visit. According to the report, Momeni, who was traveling at the invitation of his Qatari counterpart Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, was met at the airport by Qatar’s Minister of State. Momeni said that the two held extensive discussions on various topics, including crime, border and maritime security, and regional developments. He further said that he had thanked Qatar for its role as a mediator along with Pakistan. Momeni said that the two had agreed to extend economic and trade ties. According to the report, the two ministers also discussed economic and trade cooperation between the countries. Momeni also met with the Emir of Qatar.

Hamas Representative In Lebanon Ahmad Abdel Hadi: If We Could Go Back In Time, We Might Reconsider The Timing Of October 7, But Not The Act Of Resistance And Liberation; Palestinian Casualties Were Not A 'Catastrophe', But Sacrifices Made For Liberation

Hamas representative in Lebanon Ahmad Abdel Hadi discussed the October 7, 2023 attack retrospectively in an October 3, 2026 episode of the Annahar podcast on YouTube. He said that if it were possible to go back in time, perhaps there would be some reconsideration regarding the timing of October 7, but not regarding the act of resistance and liberation itself. Abdel Hadi added that the sacrifices made by Palestinians as a result of the October 7 attack are not a "catastrophe," but sacrifices made for the sake of liberation.

He said that even if Hamas had not started the Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7, there would have been an Israeli war with Lebanon and attacks on Iran and Syria anyway. He added that the Israeli plan was already prepared, and that all of this did not happen because of October 7. Rather, he said, the attack merely exposed the plan and activated it more quickly than had been planned. He emphasized: "We cannot say that all of this happened because of Hamas."
