What’s one word you’d use for a love like this?
She still reaches for his hand.
After 80 years.
Her name is Eleanor.
She’s 97.
Beside her is Walter.
He’s 107.
They aren’t famous. They don’t have some big, shiny story the world talks about.
They just stayed.
Through wars.
Through losses.
Through sickness.
Through ordinary mornings and hard nights.
Somewhere along the way, love stopped being about flowers and perfect words, and became something much quieter.
A hand held in a hospital room.
A chair pulled closer.
A familiar voice across the table.
A promise kept long after the world stopped paying attention.
Eighty years of marriage doesn’t happen by accident.
It takes patience. Forgiveness. Faith. And two people choosing each other again and again, even when life is heavy.
Eleanor and Walter remind us that lasting love doesn’t always make noise.
But it sure leaves a mark.
Leave a blessing for this sweet couple today. 🙏
