Established for African American students completing high school with a "C" average, who will participate in post secondary study. Ms.

Our Mission:
Guided by our resolve to financially support African American “C” students, the Anna V. Waters Scholarship invests in their postsecondary education. Our strategy is to increase the number of community members committed to investing in our scholarship members’ education and celebrating their worth. This scholarship has been established since October 23, 2010 to honor the memory and legacy of Anna V. Waters (1918 - 2006), who lived, worked, and raised her family in Baltimore for most of her life. Waters’ life was distinguished by her superior character and heart-felt service to others. Although, she grew up on the Eastern Shore of Maryland her children and grandchildren attended Baltimore area schools. Waters believed in “do for self” and was committed to education for all young people. A nurse by profession, she consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic. This is the work ethic she instilled in her children, which has led them to productive professional lives. In memory of her belief in “do for self” and her commitment to the education of young people we offer this scholarship to support a high school graduate in achieving her/his educational goals. Coming from Lafayette, Alabama, I challenged myself to step outside my comfort zone and get involved on campus.
