The Episcopal Center for Children (ECC) is currently seeking an energetic, creative, and organized educator who demonstrates strong leadership qualities - preferably with experience working with children in grades PK through 5th.

The Part-Time Teacher Assistant position in our After School Enrichment Program will be responsible for working with and engaging students in fun, enriching, and educational activities. The Teacher Assistant would be involved in organizing and supervising program activities, events and responsibilities listed below.

Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
● Creating and maintaining a safe and secure environment for students.
● Maintaining a relationship with parents and guardians to ensure the success of students.
● Providing homework help for students in grades 2-5.
● Tracking daily attendance using program software
● Participating in daily walking transport of children to after care facility
● Maintaining the highest level of professionalism- consistent, punctual and regular attendance.
● Bringing positive energy, creativity and imagination to work everyday

Qualifications:
● Experience working with students in grades PK through 5th in an approved setting (Examples include child development center, summer camp, school, ect.)
● Familiarity of recreational activities and behavior management

Employment information:
● Required orientation training
● All employees hired must undergo a criminal background check (fingerprinting)
● Must undergo child protection background check if selected for employment
● Reports from background checks and references must be in good standing.
● Subject to MDAT- Mandatory Drug and Alcohol Testing
● Compensation: $17 - 20 per hour
● Approx. Hours: 2:30pm - 6:30 pm

Job Type: Part-Time
Pay: $17 - $20/hr.

Expected weekly hours: Approx. 20 hours

Schedule
Monday - Friday 2:30pm - 6:30pm (some flexibility)

Experience
Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification
First Aid Certification (Preferred)
CPR Certification (Preferred)

The Episcopal Center for Children (ECC) will not sell its remaining buildings and land to the Maret School. The ECC’s popular After School Enrichment Program (ASEP) and nonprofit tenant, Goods for Good, will remain operational.

“The Episcopal Center for Children’s Board of Directors remains committed to serving children coping with special needs and their families,” said Stephanie Nash, LCSW, President & CEO of ECC. “Our intention is to continue ASEP for the 2026-2027 school year, which so many families rely on for after school care.”
