Only Make Believe - Washington, DC Only Make Believe (OMB) creates and performs interactive theatre for children in hospitals, care-facilities, and special education programs.

We believe that engaging a child's imagination is an important part of the healing and learning process. Only Make Believe currently works in Children’s National Medical Center, The HSC Pediatric Center with its Kids in Action Program, Jill’s House, St. Coletta of Greater Washington, The Children’s Inn at The National Institutes of Health, River Terrace Education Campus, Langley Elementary School,

Kennedy Krieger Institute, and Johns Hopkins Chidlren's Center. Our goal is to serve as many children as possible in the DMV area. Recently our work at The HSC Pediatric Center with its Kids in Action program was highlighted by My Fox DC.

General information

Our program is a six-week series of interactive performances that introduces children living with chronic illnesses and disabilities to the world of live theater. The children become the stars of the show as every one of our performances is designed to include the audience in the storytelling process. The OMB shows with the power of ‘make believe’ fill the hospital playrooms with song, dance, movement and laughter, inspiring joy and happiness.
