The past couple of months have been particularly hard for folks in the DC/MD/VA area - and across the country. Join the butterflies of the Xi Gamma chapter in taking the concept of BRIDGING THE GAP further, as we intentionally engage in ways to support our community. This November and December, instead of hosting our annual potluck, we are encouraging everyONE and challenging ourselves to use extra funds to donate, use extra time to volunteer, use our networks to connect others and find resources to promote. Comment below with inspiration for us all: what are you doing and how are you meeting the moment? Actions big and small all add up and matter!

We don’t make this decision lightly, but in the interest of public safety and well-being, we find it safer to postpone/cancel this event. In light of today’s announcement that the National Guard that’s been deployed everywhere in DC will now be allowed to carry arms, and with unpredictable traffic stops/check-points, we don’t want to put anyone in harm’s way.

We’re all navigating a complicated (and unprecedented) time in our city, one where we want to support our local community and keep showing it love, while we also understand feeling unease and nervous about being out and about. Please stay tuned, and above all, stay safe!

This year, Xi Gamma will be collecting winter coats for the organization Cradles to Crayons.

Their mission is to provide children from birth to age 12 with the everyday essentials they need to thrive- at home, at school, and at play. Our goal is to provide the organization with as many coat donations as possible to ensure the children in our community stay warm this winter.

ONE WEEK AWAY! The weather this year was so unpredictable, it made it hard to plan an outdoor gathering, so we’re bringing you the outdoorsy vibes INDOORS this year!

Come hang out with your XG butterflies at Throw Social in DC this Sunday, 9/15 from 3-6pm for good music (by DJ Miggl), fun (with big games like jenga and connect four), and connections in a tropical-themed setting!
