If you are a new local health official, it allows you the chance to engage with new and experienced colleagues to learn skills for the challenges and opportunities presented by your new role. As a Survive and Thrive Fellow, you will gain practical tools and tactics to help engage elected officials and community partners; best manage strategic planning and human, financial, and information resources; and bolster your ability to resolve challenges unique to your new role.

Thinking about applying for accreditation? NACCHO is pleased to announce a new funding opportunity for public health departments and organizations that provide technical assistance for accreditation (e.g. Public Health Institutes and SACCHOs) to prepare for or undertake accreditation activities. This opportunity is intended to increase the readiness of health departments to apply for national accreditation. Eligible applicants must identify an area of need around accreditation readiness and must demonstrate how they will use these funds to address this need and be better prepared to achieve accreditation.
