Fresh from Rabbinical School in June 2001, Rabbi Sue Shankman, Cantor Susan Bortnick, and Rabbi Joui Hessel began their journeys together at Washington Hebrew Congregation.

Side by side, they represented a new generation of women in Jewish leadership, helping forge a path that would leave a lasting mark on WHC and beyond.

On Friday night, Rabbi Hessel returned to the bimah to honor her longtime colleagues and friends on their 25 years of leadership at WHC.
