On Monday, Lucy O'Shields had the honor of representing The Monticello Association at the Jefferson Memorial in recognition of Thomas Jefferson’s 283rd birthday, alongside her son Colston Conrad and fellow lineal descendants.
Standing together in that space was a meaningful reflection of the shared history that connects our families.
This occasion held personal significance for Lucy as she continues serving as Vice President of the Board and prepares to step into the Presidential role this June. “It was especially meaningful to share the experience with my 13-year-old son, witnessing his connection to our collective story and the responsibility that comes with preserving it.”
Moments like these reinforce the importance of our community, our stewardship, and the generations who come before and after us. “I look forward to continuing this work together as we honor the past and guide the future of The Monticello Association.”
