Are you ready to fight?

Nearly 6,000 democracy defenders joined Fair Elections Center President and CEO Rebekah Caruthers and other voting rights leaders last weekend in Alabama for All Roads Lead to the South’s kick off activation. More than 80 communities across the country held their own rallies.

The message is clear: While the Supreme Court and anti-voter politicians continue their push to chip away at our right to vote, we’re not backing down. This fight is ours — and are going to finish it.

Last weekend was just the beginning of sustained voter mobilization, civic education, direct action, legal advocacy, and collective power-building all year long. Stay tuned for more opportunities to mobilize and be a part of the movement. Learn more: allroadsleadtothesouth.com (link in bio)

Sayna Kaushik first caught the political bug as a high school student, bringing her passion for public speaking to local and state-level campaigns that wanted to connect with young voters.

As a college student at Georgia State University, after taking several AI development certificate courses, Kaushik became quite interested in how to apply AI to the political work that was so important to her.

Jason Vadnos, CVP Student Advisory Board AAPI Representative, interviewed Kaushik about Ballot Buddy, an AI-powered tool she created as a way to cut through the noise and empower voters with information. Learn more about Kaushik's work and the future of Ballot Buddy: bit.ly/fec_ballotbuddyblog

Join Fair Elections Center President & CEO Rebekah Caruthers in Alabama this Saturday, May 16 for a National Day of Action for Voting Rights.

This kickoff mobilization is just the beginning of a national effort to raise awareness and support state and local organizations on the frontlines of the attack against democracy in our country.

The Supreme Court and anti-voter politicians across the country are actively trying to take away our right to vote and control the outcome of elections. Together we must fight back to protect our vote and ensure the will of the people prevails.

This fight is ours — and together we are going to finish it.

Today, Fair Elections Center, representing the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin, filed a lawsuit in Dane County Circuit Court challenging a Wisconsin statute that allows municipal clerks to single-handedly decide whether or not to allow voters to correct absentee ballot certificate envelope defects.

The complaint alleges that this optional and discretionary system violates the Wisconsin Constitution’s Due Process Clause because while some clerks choose to help absentee voters correct their ballots, others simply reject the ballot without notifying the voter.

What's your motto for 2026? At Fair Elections Center, ours is, "The fight goes on."

In the midst of what has been a challenging time for voting rights, Fair Elections Center, our partners, and ordinary citizens across the country continue to make their voices heard and stand up to anti-voter politicians in Washington.

In late April, our efforts paid off. Thanks to loud, bipartisan opposition from voters everywhere, the disastrous SAVE Act failed to pass the Senate once again this year.

This is a massive win for the freedom to vote—a victory we can and should celebrate.

But we can't let our guards down now, as threats against voting continue to mount. Along with the fallout from the Supreme Court's decision in Callais last week, state legislatures across the country are still pushing documentary proof of citizenship requirements under the guise of election security and commonsense voter ID.

The downfall of the federal SAVE Act makes clear the power of the American people when we rise up and say “enough.” As bad actors keep trying to rewrite the rules and make it harder for Americans to vote, we're asking you to join us in our fight to stop unlawful citizenship check bills once and for all.

Today the Supreme Court ruled in the highly anticipated case Callais V. Louisiana. The 6-3 decision effectively leaves Section 2 of the 1965 Voting Rights Act "all but a dead letter," Justice Elena Kagan said in her dissenting opinion.

This decision will undoubtedly make voting harder for millions of Americans, but the fight is far from over. Read Fair Elections Center's full statement: bit.ly/fec_callais
