OUR COMMITMENTS
The Washington Chinese Youth Club (C*C) has served the Asian community of the greater Washington DC area since 1939.

The Chinese Youth Club (C*C) promotes, organizes, and supports athletics, cultural experiences, and academic excellence among Asian American youth and enriches their lives through participation in cultural, athletic, and community activities. Generations of families have been engaged with C*C and we continue to expand in membership and level of participation. Membership has expanded from C*C’s ori

gins in DC’s Chinatown but the tradition of providing a conduit to Chinese culture and team camaraderie remains. As one of the longest tenured organizations serving the Asian youth in this area, C*C has a grand vision to expand even further to accommodate our membership’s needs. The following sets forth several of the major initiatives of C*C in the upcoming year:
1. Maintain excellence in the Lion Dance program with upgrades of lion dance equipment and instruments;
2. Expand the youth scholarship and internship programs;
3. Expand community service programs into broader, meaningful social and outreach activities;
4. Provide adequate support for athletic equipment, gym rentals, uniforms, entry fees and travel expenses for our programs.

We would like to invite you to a film screening of "A Tale of Three Chinatowns", which is part of the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center’s film festival, Visions & Voices: Stories on the Screen, celebrating AAHPI/Heritage Week.

The screening is on Friday, May 8th, from 7-9:30pm at the Warner Bros. Theater in the National Museum of American History in Washington, DC. The event is free, but please reserve your spot using the Eventbrite.com link below.

The documentary film was produced by longtime C*C member Penny Lee. The film features C*C members Eddie Moy, Raymond Moy, Wesley Chin, and others. Penny will join a panel discussion for a post-screening conversation with co-producer Lisa Mao and two community members from Boston, MA: Professor Andrew Leong and Cynthia Yee.

Residents, activists, developers, and government officials explore the histories of Chinatowns in Washington, D.C., Chicago, and Boston.
