Feminist disabled changemakers and activists are fueled by hope and rage. Rage because we are still fighting for the recognition of our right to occupy spaces.

Hope comes from watching you all hack the system, hack spaces and hack every opportunity we get to get our voices and words heard.

For the future of gender to move forward, we need not only allies in good places: we need systems that understand that it is with the disabled women, girls and gender-diverse people to be at the center of everything.

We are in this together.
We will put our bodies so they all can listen.
NOTHING ABOUT US WITHOUT US.

Leading Our Own Liberation: From Inclusion to Leadership ♿

"This is not a room of bystanders. This is a room of doers." — Diene Keita United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) set the tone at our Pre-Conference.

Activists from around the globe gathered to demand ramps and interpreters and also to lead on SRHR, climate action, and racial justice—not just accessibility.

We’re moving beyond "being included" to Feminist with Disabilities Leadership. Our movement is ready to intervene in every space.

Our question for people at Women Deliver: How will you shift the narrative from presence to power?

Poner a las mujeres con discapacidad en el centro no es limitar la visión de la justicia de género; es fortalecerla. Cuando el liderazgo refleja a quienes enfrentan las desigualdades más agudas, las soluciones se vuelven más duraderas e inclusivas para todas las personas.

Centering women with disabilities is not narrowing the lens of gender justice; it is strengthening it. When leadership reflects those navigating the sharpest edges of inequality, solutions become more durable and inclusive for everyone.

True progress requires philanthropy to treat intersectional leadership as foundational. Funding disability is funding democracy, ensuring that the systems being built today can meaningfully sustain the movements of tomorrow.

We are deeply thankful for the Ford Foundation's support for Disabled Feminist Leadership. By joining forces, we ensure that women's rights—and the intersection of those rights with all identities—are supported politically, economically, and socially.

Sustaining feminist movements as critical justice infrastructure is not possible without resources and protection.

Progress depends on grassroots organizations led by women and gender-diverse people with disabilities having direct access to the spaces, budgets, and funding necessary to counter the global rise of anti-gender and anti-democratic movements.

With less than 2% of global philanthropy reaching women’s rights—and less than 5% of that going to women with disabilities—it is vital to fund those at the intersections of these attacks to ensure no defender is left behind.

Progress is the result of years of allyship and collaboration between states, multilateral agencies, and partners like UNFPA.

March 8th is a commemoration of the strength, resilience, and history of worker women. It is a day to honor the struggle for equality, but that circle has historically been too small.

Feminism that is not intersectional is just marketing.

We must acknowledge that Women with Disabilities are Women. They face unique forms of violence, systematic exclusion from the workforce, and systemic medical bias. Yet, they have always been here, leading the charge. This International Women's Day, we expand the fight. We are centering the stories and the power of Women with Disabilities.

Don't just read. Amplify their work!
