The following campuses participate in the academic program of the UC Washington Center. Students from these and other campus programs spend a term in residence at the Center working and studying in the Washington DC metropolitan area. As interns with Congress, the Federal Government, research and advocacy organizations, the news media and through a host of other opportunities, students gain firsth

and exposure to the American political process while attaining valuable work experience. Students enrolled during the academic year take courses at the Center to fulfill the academic component of each campus program. Many write and present comprehensive research papers based in part on their internship experiences. Participating Campuses:

Happy first day of Pride Month! Spend a week with Zorrah, a Literature major at Zorrah is spending her Spring quarter as a Community Health & Engagement Intern in the DC LGBTQ Community Center, where she assists with desk operations, organizes the community closet, and provides support for community based events.

Highlights: Community Engagement, attending Pride Outreach events for the Center, and programming events such as Sunday supper and updating her resume with her supervisor.

On Monday, May 18, the UC Washington Center will host 9 Bold Policy Ideas from the University of California Faculty, a public program featuring faculty from across the system presenting research-informed policy proposals on key issues facing communities nationwide.

Topics include youth mental health, long-term care, immigration, farmworker protections, and misinformation in the time of AI.
