Last week, we were so honored that our Professional Counseling Education Program (PCEP) received the CommunityFirst Innovation & Impact Award during the inaugural Psychiatric Institute of Washington and DC Addiction Treatment & Recovery Coalition award ceremony.
“We are profoundly grateful to our team, students, instructors, partners, supporters, and the entire community for their shared commitment and hard work,” said Scott Lewis, Catholic Charities DC’s Executive Director of Enterprises, Education and Employment. “It is a privilege to accept this meaningful honor on behalf of everyone who has contributed to our success.”
PCEP provides classes to build up knowledge and skills to work with people with substance abuse disorders. Since inception of the program, 880 students have graduated from PCEP and moved on to become ethical, empathetic, and knowledgeable counselors to people and their families experiencing substance abuse disorders.
Thank you to PIW and DCATRC for the recognition of PCEP, and many thanks to the time, talent, partnership, and unwavering support of the many staff, instructors, supporters, and partners who have made this program possible.
