Message from Worshipful Master Derek Rivas.
My dear Brethren,
It is with the deepest sorrow and a heavy heart that I write to inform you of the passing of our dear friend and Brother, Worshipful Brother John Vergalla. He has laid down the working tools of this life and ascended to that Celestial Lodge above, where the Great Architect of the Universe forever presides.
WB Vergalla was more than a Past Master—he was a steady compass in our Lodge, a patient teacher, and a trusted friend. His presence was a source of light in our meetings, his words carried wisdom and calm, and his embrace of our sacred principles was unwavering. Whether through a quiet word of encouragement or his thoughtful leadership, each of us has been touched by his example. The void left by his passing is immeasurable, yet so too is the legacy of love, virtue, and brotherhood he leaves behind.
In the spirit of remembrance, I invite each of you to share any memories, stories, or photographs you may have of WB Vergalla. We are preparing a special edition of our Lodge newsletter to honor his life and Masonic journey, and your contributions will help ensure his memory is carried forward with the warmth and reverence he so deeply deserves.
Details about his Celebration of Life will be shared in due course. In the meantime, let us keep his beloved wife, Julie, and the Vergalla family in our prayers. Our Lodge stands ready to support them in any way they may need during this difficult time.
Let us mourn not as those without hope, but with the solemn faith that he now rests in eternal refreshment.
More to follow.
In Service to the Craft,
Derek M. Rivas
