We have exciting news to celebrate! 🎉 Seabury Resources for Aging has been selected as a recipient of a 2026 Flagship AARP Community Challenge Grant!

Out of more than 5,100 applications nationwide, Seabury was awarded $13,590. That's close to AARP's $15,000 cap and well above the typical award of $11,000! The grant will support Seabury's Transportation program and expand the reach of the Seabury Connector, our beloved shuttle service for older adults in DC.

AARP DC presented us with a ceremonial check at Model Cities, and we couldn't resist a few photos in front of the Seabury Connector to mark the occasion. Thank you, AARP DC, for investing in the older adults we serve. We can't wait to put this grant to work for our community! 🚐

Seabury’s Director of Transportation, Brandon Hill, and other Seabury staff joined the Grand Opening of the Village on the Avenue at Pennsylvania Avenue Baptist Church, where about 150 older adults came out to celebrate the newest Village community! 🎉

Seabury Connector keeps older adults connected to the people, places, and activities they love, with rides to the grocery store, community events, and more. We loved meeting so many neighbors and sharing how Seabury Connector and our other Seabury Resources for Aging programs can help.

Seabury was proud to attend the 2026 DC Caregiver Conference! 💛 Hosted by Iona Senior Services, the conference brought together family caregivers of older adults experiencing early memory loss across DC.

Seabury Connector provided rides for caregivers attending the conference. Thank you to East of the River Family Strengthening Collaborative for covering the cost of those rides, and to fellow Washington Home grant partners, Iona Senior Services and Friendship Bench DC, for making this such a meaningful day of support for caregivers.

Thanks for a great Ward 5 Day! 💛 Our Age-in-Place® team joined the fun at Turkey Thicket Rec Center, celebrating the neighbors, families, and local organizations that make Ward 5 so special.

Age-in-Place® matches volunteers with older adults who need help with the household tasks that get harder over time, like yard work, so they can stay safely in the homes they love. Want to lend a hand? Reach out to learn how to volunteer!

We had to stop by and say thank you! 💃 Seabury’s CEO Dawn M. Quattlebaum and advancement team members Christina and Hannah surprised the MC Steppers at their practice at Model Cities this week to thank them for their show-stopping performance at Leadership in Aging. The team shared thank-you notes and flowers, and we couldn't leave without celebrating someone special.

Happy early birthday to Monica Carroll, who leads the MC Steppers program! 🎉 Thank you, Monica and the Steppers, for bringing so much joy and energy to our Seabury community!

Why Seabury? Ask the people who live here. Our residents tell us it comes down to the everyday things — reliable transportation, a full activity calendar, and staff who know them by name. Swipe through to hear from them in their own words. 💙
