million Salvadoran immigrants living permanently in the United States, this community has developed a prominent presence in today’s American society. The Salvadoran-American Chamber of the Commerce of Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area encourages unification and community development in order to better and advance the general welfare of the Salvadoran business community. SACOC encourages Salvadoran entrepreneurs to play an active and constructive role in the economic progress within the American society. SACOC’s primary goal is to foster opportunities that highlight mutual collaboration with small, medium, and large enterprises from El Salvador and Latin America. In addition, SACOC will strive to develop better business connections and expand economic progress in the United States as well as beyond its borders.

We are pleased to announce that Edwin Salguero is joining the Salvadoran American Chamber of Commerce (SACOC) as an ambassador starting September 2024.

With over 14 years of strategic leadership experience across the technology, data science, and program management sectors—spanning government, private, and international arenas—Edwin brings a unique perspective that blends advanced technology, agile management, and strong community engagement.

As the founder of Parallel (established in 2022), Edwin leads innovative projects through his own consulting firm, delivering scalable, ethical, and data-driven solutions. His achievements include:
✅ A Master of Science in Data Science (specialization in Data Engineering) from Northwestern University.
✅ A B.A. in Social Science with a Business Concentration.
✅ Certified Scrum Master.

We welcome our new ambassador, Vincent Saravia!

At SACOC, we are proud to announce the addition of Vincent Saravia as an ambassador to our community. Vincent is a passionate investor with a strong background in finance and real estate. He is currently working towards his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification, having already passed the first level of this demanding program.

With experience in small business management since 2020, Vincent ventured into the real estate sector in 2022, where he has worked independently, advising and leading both residential and commercial projects.
Furthermore, since October 2024, he has been an active member of the Chamber of Commerce—an achievement that came after years of perseverance and dedication.

A few days ago, the Chamber of Commerce of Salvadorans in Washington held a key forum for our community abroad: "Business, Identity, Culture, and Education: Nayib Bukele's Vision for Salvadorans Abroad." This event brought together leaders, entrepreneurs, educators, and members of the diaspora to analyze the role of Salvadorans in economic, social, and cultural development both abroad and in El Salvador.

During his speech, Umanzor expressed his deep gratitude to the Presidential Commission for the Attention to Salvadorans Abroad, led by Salvador Gómez Góchez, for their work and commitment to the diaspora. Their dedication has strengthened the ties between the country and its citizens abroad, promoting initiatives that create opportunities and growth for all.

The Salvadoran American Chamber of Commerce in Washington (SACOC), under the leadership of its president Juan Umanzor , had an outstanding presence at the US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce - Legislative Summit, a key event for the economic and business development of the Hispanic community in the United States.

This important gathering brought together business leaders, legislators, and experts in various economic and commercial fields to discuss trends and opportunities impacting Latino entrepreneurs. Among the key topics covered were:
