Targeting Ukrainian farmers and their families, the resulting oppression was a brutal response to resistance against forced collectivization. The term “Holodomor” translates to “death by hunger” or “killing by hunger,” a somber testament to the calculated cruelty of the official state policy directed from Moscow.
