The grassroots effort builds awareness and education about the Soviet-induced famine which killed millions. Today, the Ukrainian nation leads the fight to prevent another genocide. The Holodomor: A Brief History
The Holodomor was a famine engineered by Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin’s regime. Food was used as a tool of oppression against millions of Ukrainians. Targeting Ukrainian farmers and their families, the resulting oppression was a brutal response to resistance against forced collectivization. The term “Holodomor” translates to “death by hunger” or “killing by hunger,” a somber testament to the calculated cruelty of the official state policy directed from Moscow.
