Join the Black Alliance for Peace D.C. Citywide Alliance as it commemorates 9 years of BAP and reflects on 59 years since Martin Luther King Jr.’s first public speech against the Vietnam War, and on the current state of the anti-war movement and the anti-imperialist struggle within the belly of the beast. In recognition of these urgent times we find ourselves in, we will share King’s speech and show how his words live on in BAP’s work and campaigns.

Join the Mid-Atlantic Region of The Black Alliance for Peace (BAP Mid-Atlantic) as we mobilize for the Week of Resistance to disrupt the U.S. war machine and stand in principled opposition to the escalating state violence at home and abroad.

Understanding the nature of our interconnected struggle from the DMV to Venezuela to Palestine to Iran, we demand: Stop the War on Venezuela! No to U.S. wars for regime change! Free President Maduro and Cilia Flores! Defend Venezuela’s Sovereignty and Right to Resist! End the U.S. War on Migrants! End the Genocide in Palestine and Defeat Zionism! Abolish ICE! And the National Guard Out of Our Communities!

Beginning at 2 PM on January 31, we will hold a rally starting at St. Elizabeths East on MLK in Southeast DC, to resist a recently proposed ICE Detention Center and the militarization/occupation of the U.S. Empire domestically and abroad.

On November 19, 2025, the Mid-Atlantic Region of The Black Alliance for Peace joined the Coordinated Day of Action to Defend Venezuela’s Sovereignty.

From BAP’s November 14, 2025 statement: “Realizing a Zone of Peace in Our Americas Requires Defending Venezuela’s Popular Sovereignty”

The U.S. empire, unable to accept the sovereignty, progress, and moral example of the Bolivarian Revolution, is escalating its aggressive attacks against Venezuela. This is by no means an isolated struggle — what started as aggression against Venezuela and the Bolivarian Revolution has already claimed several dozen lives of working-class people in the Caribbean and Pacific, extended to threats against Colombia and its President, been linked to the militarization of Ecuador and Panama, and re-militarized Puerto Rico. This is yet another front in the struggle against U.S. imperialism, and it is interlocked with our movements for liberation in Haiti, Palestine, throughout Our Americas, across the Global South, and within the borders of the United States.

To oppose this militarization and violence, and expel the nefarious forces of imperialist, colonial violence from our region, we must be steadfast in guaranteeing Our Americas as a Zone of Peace.

This mobilization fueled the concrete building of national coalitions against SOUTHCOM and local self-defense networks, learning from the powerful examples of Venezuela’s communal militias and projects that embody popular democracy. The U.S. empire seeks to destroy the Bolivarian Revolution precisely because it shows we can fight for People(s)-Centered Human Rights (PCHRs) and for a true, just, militant peace. In unwavering solidarity with the Venezuelan people, we therefore commit to continuing this fight, organizing in solidarity with their masses and popular movements across the Americas to defend sovereignty, dignity, and the right to forge a different future.

Defend Venezuela’s Sovereignty!
U.S. & NATO Out of Our Americas!
Make Our Americas a Zone of Peace!

TODAY: Join the Mid-Atlantic Region of The Black Alliance for Peace (, BAP) TODAY, Wednesday, November 19 for BAP’s Day of Action to Defend Venezuela’s Sovereignty at Barrack’s Row in Capitol Hill, SE, Washington, D.C. for a rally and speakout. Participants and speakers will address the mounting aggression from the U.S. toward Venezuela, the militarization of the Caribbean and the Americas, D.C.’s African/Black population as part and parcel of the internal colony within the imperial core, and the ever-expanding militarization of the Mid-Atlantic region to connect with broader, global anti-imperialist struggles in Haiti, Puerto Rico, Palestine and the Global South.

With the intention to escalate our coordinated agitation against the U.S. Empire. Formations across the U.S. and the Americas will be mobilizing in alignment with this day and time to maximize the strength of our collective resistance at strategic pressure points to destabilize the war machine and demand a Zone of Peace.
