Lesbian Health Fund LHF's mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of LGBTQ+ women & girls through funding rigorous scientific research. We have been and remain the only U.S.

We are committed to this mission until the causes of inequitable health care and outcomes are dismantled in our community. LHF centers and uplifts communities whose lived experiences and health are impacted by sexism, misogyny, transmisogyny, and/or misogynoir using an anti-oppressive approach in pursuit of health justice. research fund dedicated solely to the unique health needs of LGBTQ+ women a

nd girls. For nearly three decades, LHF has been funding essential and fundamental research to improve the health and lives of this community. Our grants are crucial catalysts to larger, multi-million dollar studies funded by federal agencies. We have granted over $1 million dollars to fund over 120 critical research studies which have deepened knowledge of our communities’ health.

We celebrate the life of Dr. Deb Bowen who not only dedicated her career to advancing healthcare delivery and health promotion but was a champion in advancing the health of LGBTQ+ women.
Dr. Bowen was awarded a
achievement award in 2017. This award recognized her outstanding contributions to improving the health of LGBTQ+ people, including serving as LHF's grants chair for over a decade. We are grateful for her impact and influence on us and our community🌈
