Cultural Vistas equips citizen leaders to address complex challenges by connecting lives to exchange knowledge, values, and ideas.

In our perfect world, exchange and experiential learning opportunities are an accessible and equitable way to drive solutions to complex challenges by cultivating curious, culturally competent, and engaged global citizens. Cultural Vistas administers more than 30 programs that expand access to international experience and promote global engagement by nurturing citizen leaders of all kinds – from college students to heads of state – to address challenges in collaborative and innovative ways. From journalism fellowships aimed at combatting the spread of misinformation, to seed grants that advance conservation efforts in the Indo-Pacific region, to teacher exchanges, study tours, cross-continental internships, and more – our programs empower people and institutions to come together to drive positive change in themselves, their communities, and the world. 2026 Muskie Fellow Dilara Kussainova sat down to tell us about her summer internship at the Harvard Graduate School of Education as a Research Fellow. Her time on the Edmund S. Muskie Professional Fellowship Program enabled her to put her education into practical work experience she wouldn't have otherwise gotten. ⁠

Being an alum of not just one or two, but THREE Cultural Vistas programs, Bear Häon has learned a lot throughout his time on programs. Ahmet Bozer, the leader of our new program, The Soulgery Way, brings with him over 30 years of expertise as a global leader and former President of Coca-Cola International. Ahmet has worked with international markets across the globe. From India to Africa, the Middle East to Central Asia, Ahmet served as a senior advisor and leader on business councils and corporate boards.

The Soulgery Way follows his book, Soulgery, which introduces the program's framework for harnessing life experiences to build purpose, resilience, and meaningful progress. The 2026 Muskie Fellowship Program concluded earlier this month with an in-person debriefing event in Washington, D.C. During the event, Muskie Fellows shared reflections on their summer internship experiences through presentations and discussions. The group was also joined by 2015 Muskie alumna Anna Lysiuk, who gave a presentation on how new Muskie alumni can use their experiences in their home communities going forward, now that they have completed the program.
