Absolutely. That caption had some of those tells. Here’s a cleaner, more human version:

Congress is moving forward with a military integration plan that puts Netanyahu’s agenda ahead of the American people.

Section 224 would deepen U.S.-Israel military cooperation by assigning the Pentagon to coordinate defense technology, research, testing, integration, and industrial cooperation with Israel.

Rep. Ro Khanna tried to stop it. His amendment failed by voice vote in the House Armed Services Committee, and the proposal now moves toward the House floor.

Netanyahu has been pushing for exactly this: shifting Israel from aid recipient to military “partner,” with joint defense cooperation, weapons development, missile defense, AI, and next-generation military platforms.

Rep. Thomas Massie has pledged to introduce an amendment to revoke Section 224 when the NDAA reaches the full House.

Members of Congress should have to go on record.

No backdoor military integration.
No blank checks.
Congress needs to put the American people first!

The shooting attack on a San Diego Mosque complex that left three people dead is not an isolated incident. It is part of a pattern that demands honest conversation and urgent action.

ADC's National Legal Director and Interim President Jenin Younes joined Arab Talk with Jess & Jamal to discuss how political rhetoric is fueling real-world violence against Muslim and Arab American communities, why hate crimes are so inconsistently prosecuted and what protections our communities still lack.

ADC wishes Eid al-Adha Mubarak to all who observe this sacred day.

This Eid arrives as Palestine continues to endure genocide, Lebanon faces devastation, and communities across the world confront war, displacement, racism, and state violence. We cannot separate our prayers from our responsibility. We must meet this moment with action.

Eid al-Adha calls us to sacrifice with purpose: to defend life, protect the vulnerable, speak truth, and stand firm for justice.

Today, we hold Palestine, Lebanon, and all oppressed people close. We mourn every life stolen. And we draw strength from those who continue to love, heal, organize, worship, and resist in the face of cruelty.

Hope is discipline. Hope is action. Hope is the belief that our people will not be erased, and that justice remains possible because we continue to fight for it.

May this Eid strengthen our hearts, sharpen our purpose, and bring us closer to liberation.

Eid Mubarak to you and your loved ones.

Statement from ADC Interim President Jenin Younes on Mahmoud Khalil Decision

“Today’s decision denying rehearing en banc is a  dangerous abdication of the judiciary’s duty to protect constitutional rights when the government targets people for their speech. It gives the executive carte blanche to use immigration law to punish people for expressing views the government disfavors, which is exactly what the First Amendment prohibits. Courts must not permit immigration proceedings to become a vehicle for punishing political expression.

ADC’s amicus brief warned the Third Circuit of precisely this danger. We argued that retaliatory detention inflicts immediate and irreparable First Amendment harm, and that forcing Khalil  to wait until the end of removal proceedings to obtain meaningful judicial review would allow the government to silence protected speech first and answer for it only after the damage is done. Five judges thought rehearing was warranted, but unfortunately that wasn’t enough. Three of them wrote a dissent that encapsulates what is at stake: ‘Rather than disturbing settled precedent and abdicating our duty to meaningfully review Khalil’s constitutional claims, we should be granting the petition for rehearing en banc.’

This case is not only about Mahmoud Khalil . It is about whether the government can use detention and deportation as tools to intimidate immigrants, Palestinians, students, and all people of conscience into silence.”

In the wake of the shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego, ADC’s Southern California Organizer Doris Bittar and ADC San Diego Education Chair Nadia Swanson spoke with about the deeper crisis of normalizing ignorance, misinformation, and anti-Arab and anti-Muslim hate.

Launched 3 years ago, ADC and our partners have worked to confront this reality through Taalim, an initiative focused on bringing Arab and Muslim cultural education into classrooms across San Diego and Southern California.

Too many students grow up without ever meaningfully learning about Arab history, culture, or communities except through the lens of war and stereotypes. That absence creates an environment where unchecked prejudice can grow into discrimination, hate, and violence against Arab and Muslim students.

ADC’s education work is rooted in long-term investment in education and cultural understanding through educator trainings, curriculum advocacy, cultural programming, and community engagement. This work does not happen overnight, but moments like this remind us why it is necessary.

We are pleased to share ADC National Legal Director and Interim President Jenin Younes' recent interview with No Frontiers on Substack, where she speaks candidly about the rise of antisemitic hoaxes and their role in suppressing Arab American free speech and pro-Palestinian solidarity. Jenin addresses the political weaponization of antisemitism claims and ADC's ongoing legal defense of a pro-Palestine activist targeted through what she calls a broader "lawfare" campaign.

When a community votes to align its public investments with its values – to stop funding weapons manufacturers, fossil fuel companies, private prisons, and entities complicit in human rights violations, that decision deserves to be defended.

That's exactly what ADC is doing.

We have filed a Motion to Intervene in federal court (Case No. 1:26-cv-10589-GAO) as co-counsel defending Medford, MA's Values-Aligned Local Investments Ordinance against a legal challenge brought by two out-of-state foundations seeking to overturn what Medford's residents voted for.

This case matters beyond Medford. A ruling against the ordinance could threaten values-aligned investment policies across the country. ADC is committed to ensuring that does not happen.

We urge the court to grant the Motion to Intervene without delay, and we call on the City of Medford to mount a full and vigorous defense.

Over the last several days, the ADC Board of Directors has been carefully reviewing the concerns raised across various platforms about our organization and governance. We want to address them directly with the transparency and accountability our community deserves. We acknowledge the delay in our response as we gathered information, and we take full responsibility for it.

If you have been personally impacted or have questions or constructive feedback that will make us a stronger organization, we want to hear from you. Please send us a direct message.

Some of what is being circulated involves incidents from more than a decade ago after which we took corrective action. Because we recognize that the passage of time does not erase harm, we reiterate our previous apology sincerely and without reservation today. Following those incidents and for more than a decade, we have had a zero-tolerance policy for harassment.

That said, online or other harassment of individuals or organizations with misinformation or the sharing of individual private information is similarly unacceptable and dangerous. We will defend ourselves and our constituents against any false claims.

Our Mission Has Not Changed

Our mission has and always is to defend and promote the human rights, civil rights, and liberties of more than 3.7 million Arab Americans in the United States. That mission is why we are here. It is what guides every decision we make — and it is what we will continue to fight for.

Every concern raised by this community matters to us. Every voice matters. Please help us grow, improve, and serve our community better — we are listening. Together, we move forward with clarity, accountability, and purpose.

The ADC Board of Directors has voted to appoint Jenin Younes as Interim President of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, effective immediately.

Jenin has served as ADC's National Legal Director since September 2025. A former New York City public defender and First Amendment litigator, she has spent her career defending people against government overreach across ideologies, across issues, and in the most consequential forums available.

This appointment comes at a moment when ADC's legal advocacy work has never been more urgent, in courts, on campuses, and in Congress. The Board acted with deliberate purpose, accelerating its consideration to ensure stable, focused leadership for our community during this critical period.

Jenin's commitment to ADC's mission, her deep understanding of what this organization means to Arab Americans across the country, and her record of fighting for civil liberties at the highest levels make her the right leader for this moment.

We move forward with authority, with focus, and with you.
