🎉 Congratulations, Children’s National Hospital Nurses! 🎉

The votes have been counted, and your new contract has officially been RATIFIED!

This is more than a contract—it is a reflection of what is possible when nurses stand together with a shared purpose. Through your engagement, solidarity, and commitment, you have secured meaningful improvements that recognize the value of your work and strengthen your voice in the workplace.

Highlights of the ratified agreement include:
• Wage increases averaging more than 16% over the next three years
• Immediate pay increases for eligible nurses
• Increased PRN rates
• Higher starting pay for new graduate nurses
• Enhanced workplace protections and stronger due process rights
• New protections related to AI and technology
• Continued advocacy for safe patient assignments through the RN Patient Assignment Committee

Thank you to every nurse who attended meetings, stayed informed, asked questions, encouraged your colleagues, and cast your vote. A special thank you to the bargaining team for your countless hours of dedication and advocacy on behalf of your fellow nurses.

Today we celebrate this victory. Tomorrow we continue building an even stronger union.

🚨 DC Nurses, The Numbers Are In! 💰🩺

The latest 2025 national nursing salary data confirms what we already know — nurses are essential, in demand, and still fighting for the respect and working conditions we deserve.

📈 RN National Average Salary: $101,420
📈 NP National Average Salary: $137,300
📈 CRNA National Average Salary: $248,320

But numbers alone don’t tell the whole story.

⚠️ RN wages in DC declined 2.1%
⚠️ High salaries do not always equal strong purchasing power
⚠️ Nurses across the country continue pushing for safer staffing and fair treatment in the workplace

At DCNA, we will continue advocating for:
✅ Safe staffing
✅ Fair compensation
✅ Respect for nurses
✅ Better working conditions
✅ Strong nurse voices in healthcare decisions

DC nurses deserve wages and protections that reflect the critical care, expertise, leadership, and sacrifices we bring to healthcare every single day.

Every day nurses continue to show up for patients while navigating short staffing, burnout, workplace challenges, and increasing demands. Organizing and standing united is about protecting both healthcare workers AND patient care.
