Counter-tariffs sound like fighting back. But someone always pays the bill, and it's usually you at the checkout.

Jay Goldberg looked at what history actually tells us about tariff wars. The answer is pretty clear.

History already showed us how this ends. Nearly 100 years ago, Canada tried counter-tariffs. All they did was deepen the Great Depression and change nothing in the US.

Michigan wants to test tracking how far you drive, through GPS and your phone. It's being called voluntary, for now.

But here's what matters for you. With a private company you can walk away. With the government, you can't swap providers when driving on a public road.

A state tracking your every mile is "a government monopoly with enforcement powers."

Before Michigan rolls this out, drivers should be asking who sees this data, how long it's kept, and whether "voluntary" stays voluntary.

There’s a real shortage of nurses. James says paperwork burnout was one of the top reasons they were leaving the job. They were buried in forms and had no time left for the part they actually cared about.

Let AI handle the paperwork, and nurses get back to their patients and the reason they chose the career in the first place.

Not replacing people. Giving them their purpose back.

For $12.9 billion, Nvidia could take control of one of the world's largest open-source AI platforms.

The platform is already used by more than 18 million developers. If access were restricted, it would choke competition and hurt consumers.

Luckily, that's not what Nvidia promised. The acquisition could widen access to AI tools for smaller companies and boost competition.

For our Deputy Director, Yaël Ossowski, this would be a major victory for innovators and consumers worldwide.

The quota system is the core mechanism of Canada's supply management.

It has kept dairy, eggs and poultry behind a wall of quotas and tariffs for more than 50 years. That makes Canadians pay 37 to 55% more for eggs, chicken and milk.

Ending the quota system would open Canada up to competition, bring down grocery prices (in a single budget), treat every farmer with the same fairness and remove the biggest obstacle to Canada signing new trade deals.

Ever had AI mess up something simple and wonder how it’s supposed to take over the world?

Yaël Ossowski of the Consumer Choice Center says he’s messed around with plenty of these AI tools, and so have most viewers. Frustrations, mistakes, things it just can’t do. Right now, the capacity is real but still user-defined. No apocalyptic scenario playing out. Not proof. A pattern.

Ossowski says the doom talk could be marketing, could be PR, or people genuinely concerned. Either way, the robots taking over? Not yet.
