Fonkoze Fonkoze empowers Haitians, primarily rural women, with the tools needed to break the cycle of poverty

The Fonkoze Family is composed of the following three organizations:

Fonkoze USA: is an American 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to securing financial and technical support for its Haitian partners. It educates the American public about Fonkoze’s work in Haiti, facilitates technical assistance for the two Haitian entities, and raises money to support Fonkoze’s programs, including educati

on, business training, and health services. Fonkoze USA also acts as a channel for socially responsible investors who want to “invest” in Fonkoze’s loan fund by lending their money at subsidized interest rates. Fonkoze USA gives American donors access to tax advantages available to the fullest extent allowed, and conducts the necessary due diligence on Fonkoze’s operations. Sèvis Finansye Fonkoze (SFF): is an empowering financial institution that offers a full range of financial services in Fonkoze’s branches throughout Haiti. These services include microfinance, savings, foreign exchange, domestic money transfers, international remittances, insurance, call center and other financial services. Fondasyon Kole Zepòl (Fonkoze Foundation): is a Haitian nonprofit institution that provides development services and programs to support the ultra-poor and Fonkoze’s microfinance clients with the resources and skills they need to overcome obstacles and become successful on their climb up Fonkoze’s Staircase Out of Poverty. Its services include adult education, preventative and promotional health care, and business skills training. Fonkoze also conducts Social Impact Monitoring in order to measure Fonkoze’s impact on clients’ lives and uses that data to further innovate on behalf of Fonkoze clients, testing new programs and products including financial products for youth. These development innovations have been internationally recognized by the European Microfinance Award and Philanthropedia, among others. Together, these organizations form the institution known as Fonkoze, providing a comprehensive approach to poverty alleviation to thousands of families throughout Haiti.

Nan Jou Manman Ayisyen an, nou onore fòs, rezilyans, ak lidèchip fanm yo atravè tout peyi Ayiti. Chak jou, manman yo ap bati biznis, pran swen fanmi yo, sipòte kominote yo, epi kreye opòtinite malgre gwo defi yo.

Nan Fonkoze, nou wè fanm an aksyon chak jou — y ap dirije gwoup ekonomi, y ap devlope mwayen pou yo viv, y ap jwenn aksè ak swen sante, epi y ap envesti nan avni pitit yo. Jodi a, n ap selebre fanm sa yo ki, grasa detèminasyon yo, kontinye ap fòme Ayiti avèk kouraj, swen, ak lespwa. 💙❤️

On Haitian Mother's Day, we honor the strength, resilience, and leadership of women across Haiti. Every day, mothers are building businesses, caring for their families, supporting their communities, and creating opportunities in the face of immense challenges.

At Fonkoze, we see women in action every day — leading savings groups, growing livelihoods, accessing healthcare, and investing in their children’s futures. Today, we celebrate the women whose determination continues to shape Haiti with courage, care, and hope. 💙❤️

At Skoll Week 2026 in Oxford, Fonkoze partnered with The Sidebar to host a candid conversation on what truly works in fragile contexts — and why Haitian-led solutions matter.
🎥 The full panel conversation is now available on our website.

“Haiti Beyond the Playbook: Rethinking What Works in Fragile Contexts” brought together leaders and practitioners committed to honest dialogue around partnership, adaptation, risk-sharing, and long-term systems change.

One message came through clearly: Haiti is not only a place where development happens — it is a source of development knowledge.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this important discussion.

Today, we celebrate Haitian Flag Day — a symbol of unity, resilience, and the enduring spirit of Haiti.

The Haitian flag was first created during the revolution by Catherine Flon, who is remembered for sewing together the blue and red sections of the French flag to represent a new and independent Haiti. Her act became part of a larger movement led by Haitians fighting for freedom, dignity, and self-determination.

More than two centuries later, the flag continues to represent the strength and determination of the Haitian people — especially the women who hold families, communities, and local economies together every day.

At Fonkoze, we see that spirit in action across Haiti through women building businesses, caring for their communities, investing in their children, and creating pathways forward despite immense challenges.

Today, we honor Haiti’s history, its people, and the ongoing work of those shaping its future.

Happy Haitian Flag Day. 🇭🇹

Nou fèk lanse yon nouvo sitwèb Fonkoze—
epi se plis pase yon senp redizay.
Se yon fenèt klè sou travay la: kijan fanmi nan peyi Dayiti apavanse soti nan enstabilite pou rive nan sekirite, ak kijan chak etap nan vwayaj sa a jwenn sipò—soti nan transfè lajan kach ak antrenman entansif ki estabilize fwaye ki pi vilnerab yo, rive nan edikasyon dijital, sante, kredi, ak kwasans ti biznis.Nou bati sit sa a pou rann chemen sa yo pi fasil pou wè.
Pi fasil pou konprann.
Epi pi fasil pou sipòte.
W ap jwenn istwa reyèl kliyan yo, yon apèsi pi pwofon sou fason pwogram nou yo mache ansanm, ak yon koneksyon pi dirèk ak enpak ou rann posib.
Fè yon ti gade, eksplore, epi wè sa k nouvo a:

We just launched a new Fonkoze website—
and it’s more than a redesign.

It’s a clear window into the work: how families in Haiti move from instability toward security, and how every step of that journey is supported—from cash transfers and intensive coaching that stabilize the most vulnerable households, to digital education, health, credit, and small business growth.

We built this site to make these pathways easier to see.
Easier to understand.
And easier to support.

You’ll find real stories from clients, a deeper look at how our programs fit together, and a more direct connection to the impact you make possible.
Take a look, explore, and see what’s new:
