The AAUP is proud to endorse Dr. Abdul El-Sayed for U.S. Senate!

In response to a recent Higher Ed Labor United questionnaire, El-Sayed stated that “Universities must defend the First Amendment and academic freedom and stand up to the Trump Administration’s campaign to use campus protests as a pretext to invoke ideological control over America’s higher education system. The rights of students and faculty to speak out on political issues, question authority and engage in peaceful protest without fear is essential to our democracy and the mission of higher education.”

Abdul El-Sayed will be an invaluable ally for higher education in the Senate.
