Japan-America Student Conference (JASC)

Japan-America Student Conference (JASC) The US delegation then invited the Japanese to the US the following year. This back and forth tradition has continued ever since. https://linktr.ee/jasc75

The Japan-America Student Conference (JASC) is a month-long student-led international conference and exchange program, initiated in 1934 by university students concerned by the breakdown of bilateral relations prior to World War II. In 1934, a group of Japanese university students invited a group of students from the US for a chance to deepen their understanding of each other and improve their cou

ntries relations. Each year, 70-80 American and Japanese students spend an intense month of living, studying and traveling together at various locales in the United States or Japan.

Our second week of JASC78 concluded in Nashville, Tennessee! Delegates kicked off the site with a visit to the Country Music Hall of Fame before a walking tour of the civil rights sit-in campaigns.

After an immersive tour of the nearby Nissan plant, JASC celebrated local sports pride with the Predators at Bridgestone Arena. Delegates also visited Bridgestone Tower and gained insights from local business professionals.

A special thanks to Metro Council member Terry Vo and former Metro Council member Mina Johnson for their hard work. JASC had an incredible city council visit, as well as a nuclear panel and site forum to conclude our week.

Onto our last site, Washington DC!
