Washington Community Fellowship is a Christ-centered, multi-denominational faith community.

WCF is a worshiping community that values:

Reconciliation: living out restored, transformed and loving relationships between God and us, our homes, neighborhoods, workplaces and institutions. Diversity: respecting the variety of denominations, backgrounds, traditions, cultures and ages that come together in the body of Christ. Community: evidencing invitation, joy, freedom and healing through loving and honest relationships, mutual submission and intimacy with God and others. Discipleship: nurturing faithful obedience to Jesus according to God’s word and by the Spirit with commitment to evangelism, spiritual disciplines and service. Racial Justice: addressing prevalent and specific attitudes, behaviors and structures that deny opportunities and power because of racial identification. Leadership: providing spiritual oversight and exercising mutual accountability in all areas of our congregational vision, mission, core values and strategies. Neighborhood Relevancy: responding to the surrounding needs and challenges as we work with others for the neighborhood’s common good and well-being. Gifting: discerning God’s call and vocation for our lives by the use of gifts, regardless of race, class, educational and economic background, gender and age. Stewardship: being faithful managers of all that we are and have in service to God and humanity. Connections: fostering relationships of mutuality and responsibility within our local settings and beyond-denominationally, nationally and globally.

Hagar. Adam and Eve. Joseph. Moses. For so many characters in Scripture, being seen and known by God — and by others — changes everything. We are so excited for our church retreat next weekend!

Beginning with the question, “Where have you come from?”, we will reflect on our own stories and what we bring into this weekend. As we move toward “Where are you?” and “Where are you going?”, we will create space to notice where God is present in our lives and community, to receive God’s love without needing to have everything figured out, and to listen for where God may be inviting us next.

Through storytelling, embodied reflection, and conversation with one another, we will explore what it means to be fully seen, known, and loved by the God who is forming us

📖🫀 We are not meant to just read Scripture, but to 𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙤𝙙𝙮 𝙞𝙩.

The Bible’s power multiplies when we read it not as isolated individuals, but as one people carrying each other’s stories.

God’s word dwells among his people so that we can embody a 𝙙𝙞𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩 kind of life amid a broken world.

WCF is a multidenominational community: We believe the Spirit has given gifts to the whole church for the building up of the 𝙬𝙝𝙤𝙡𝙚 𝙘𝙝𝙪𝙧𝙘𝙝.

In 𝑷𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝑴𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒔 𝑷𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆, we're exploring practices that shape WCF and the kind of community they are forming us to become.

We receive these practices — liturgy, communion, scripture, and more — as gifts, and want to embrace their richness and how Jesus is forming us in them.

🤝 Eternal life isn't just about 𝙙𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣. Eternal life is about 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣.

Eternal life isn’t a distant hope. Every act of courage, every moment of surrendered love, becomes a signpost of the eternal life already at work.

And this promise from God is what gives us true confidence, even in the midst of fear.

🔆 In this family, we stay 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙩. We pay 𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣. We bring ourselves 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩.

In the garden, out of his deep love, Jesus stayed before the Father with sweat, anguish, and prayer, facing the suffering that was coming.

Elder Neal Smith reminded us that belonging to God's family calls us to stay with one another. It also leads us to name the stories that are buried within us that lead us to sin against our siblings in Christ.
