A D.C. court has ordered three real estate firms that allegedly denied voucher-holders access to rentals or imposed additional, and illegal, requirements on low-income applicants to pay a $10 million settlement and stop managing property in D.C. forever.

Great news! COVID-19 rescue funds that haven't been used at this point are now allowed to be repurposed for affordable housing. The reality for a small organization like GRACE in Action is that we are unlikely to be able to put these funds to work ourselves, given the barriers to entry to even compete for funds like these. That just means we're even more grateful for you, our past -- and future! -- donors who help make our efforts possible right here in DC.

Cities and states have greater flexibility to use American Rescue Plan funds on affordable housing under new Biden administration changes.
