WHAT IS A BIOGENEIUS ??
For those of you unfamiliar, these are high school students who have conducted some of the most outstanding research in biotechnology. Each year, we celebrate them in a nationwide competition, often including those from Canada, called the BioGENEius Challenge in Healthcare, Sustainability (agbio) and Industrial/Environmental biotechnology.
Just to highlight a few ...
In 2023, Anshi Paul won with her project "Wearable Memory Assistive Device for Dementia and Alzheimer’s Patients Using Machine Learning Facial Recognition".
In 2022, Okezue Bell won with his project "A Novel Anthropomorphic Myoprosthesis for Transradial Amputees".
Each of their projects was independently conceived and developed into prototypes using cutting edge biotechnology with integrated computer sciences. They exemplify the integration of a multiplicity of fields of science to accomplish solutions to some of our most pressing unmet needs. Over the next months, follow us here to learn how our BioGENEius alumni are changing the future. And come see the next-gen 2024 BioGENEius finalists at BioFuture (https://biofuture.com/) on the CURE Innovation campus (https://wewillcure.com/) in New York City this October!
