It’s !

You probably didn’t’ expect a defense credit union organization to be this excited about donuts, but we have good reason (aside from donuts being delicious).

National Donut Day has its roots in the military, believe it or not. During WWI volunteers would hand out doughnuts to soldiers as a way of keeping morale high and fighting off hunger. The effort was so popular that American troops serving in the war became known as “Doughboys,” and, in 1938, the The Salvation Army established National Donut Day as a way to honor the volunteers who cooked and served the donuts.

So today, while you’re enjoying your donut, take a moment to think of those who served.

Important update!

Governor Jared Polis has vetoed the SB26-134, recognizing concerns with its potential impact on consumers, small businesses, and financial institutions operating in Colorado!

This is a big win for credit unions and their members in the state and came after DCUC urged the Governor to reject the legislation. Read the full release in the comments.
