DCUC opposes finalizing the FDIC’s proposed Merger Transactions rule without revisions addressing its treatment of credit union buyers.

“Credit unions are not-for-profit, member-owned cooperatives. That structure is central to our position on bank acquisitions,” says Anthony Hernandez, DCUC President/CEO, Ret. U.S. Air Force Colonel. “Our objection concerns the separate treatment of credit union buyers, not the requirement to examine financial strength, service continuity and community needs.”

When traditional systems fail, mission readiness depends on having a plan.

Travis Credit Union Union partnered with the 60th Comptroller Squadron and a coalition of military, federal, and financial partners to help build a reliable pipeline for rapidly moving large quantities of cash from stateside Federal Reserve vaults to a military installation and, when needed, downrange.

The collaboration resulted in the Department of War’s first Standard Operating Procedure specifically designed for this mission — creating a clear playbook for ordering, securing, transporting, and delivering government funds during a crisis.

An amazing story from one of our members and an incredible example of how credit unions work alongside our Nation's military to help solve complex challenges and strengthen financial readiness when it matters most.
