$25,000 raised for the USO! 🇺🇸

DCUC is proud to announce that our 2026 Conference with a Purpose raised $25,000 in support of the USO, continuing our longstanding tradition of giving back to organizations that serve military and veteran communities.

Since this tradition began in 2003, DCUC has now raised $548,000 through Conference with a Purpose!

This year, attendees came together through our silent auction, 50/50 drawing, Annual VADM Vincent Lascara Golf Tournament fundraising, and a special Giveback for the USO, sponsored by Visa, where participants assembled care packages for U.S. service members.

We are incredibly grateful to our members, sponsors, and attendees whose generosity continues to demonstrate what it means to serve those who serve.

DCUC Welcomes John Alexander as Deputy Chief Advocacy Officer!

We’re excited to welcome U.S. Navy veteran and experienced credit union advocate John Alexander to the DCUC team in the newly created role of Deputy Chief Advocacy Officer.

John brings a unique combination of military service, public policy experience, and credit union advocacy that will help strengthen DCUC’s presence on Capitol Hill and ensure the priorities of defense credit unions are heard where decisions are made.

“I’ve spent my career serving in different ways, from the Navy to public policy to credit union advocacy. Joining DCUC brings those experiences together. I’m proud to continue serving by advocating for the credit unions that support those who serve our country,” John said.

DCUC has submitted recommendations to House Financial Services Committee Chairman French Hill and Ranking Member Maxine ...

DCUC has submitted recommendations to House Financial Services Committee Chairman French Hill and Ranking Member Maxine Waters in response to the Committee’s discussion draft proposing significant reforms to the structure, rulemaking, supervision, and enforcement authorities of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).

DCUC’s recommendations addressed each of the five titles of the Committee’s discussion draft, while also calling for a dedicated and independent CFPB Inspector General; comprehensive economic analysis of proposed regulations affecting credit unions and community financial institutions; stronger small-business impact reviews; and mandatory reconsideration of CFPB regulations every five years.
