APALA members are invited to Teamsters 639's Living Wage Rally on Friday, Aug. 14.

Location: Outside of the Verbal Beginnings Office at 7300 Calhoun, Rockville, MD 20855.

What it's about: Registered Behavioral Technicians at Verbal Beginnings have been on strike for 4 weeks and have been working for more than a year for a fair contract. But management continues to refuse to pay a living wage. This is a historic strike as Teamsters Teamsters 639 represents mental health workers at the first privately owned ABA clinic in the country to unionize. Living wages for frontline workers would reduce worker turnover and improve therapy conditions for vulnerable children.
