Last week, the US-Asia Institute partnered with the US-Heartland China Association to welcome more than 100 experts from the United States and China to Memphis for a Yangtze-Mississippi Regional Dialogue focused on common opportunities and challenges faced by the two countries. Working groups comprised of experts and officials representing the US and China focused on Climate Resilience, Low-Carbon Agriculture and Agrivoltaic Systems, and Green Transportation. We are grateful to help facilitate such meaningful discussion.

Last Tuesday, the US-Asia Institute hosted our annual Elections 101 program for diplomats. We welcomed over 35 diplomats and embassy staff from Asian embassies in DC to learn more about election processes in the US. This program included a informational briefing followed by a visit to a polling site in Fairfax County, VA, and a discussion with local officials.

On Monday, the US-Asia Institute bid farewell to Minister of Congressional Affairs, Tomoaki Ishigaki from the Embassy of Japan. During his time in Washington, we were honored to work with Minister Ishigaki and the Embassy of Japan to strengthen our Japan programs. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Minister Ishigaki for his support of USAI and wish him and his family all the best in their move to Brazil. Embassy of Japan in the USA
