One of the greatest joys of WeGotNext is watching our ambassadors continue to create positive change long after their time with us. Today, we’re celebrating Gabe Patterson, ambassador alumni, inspiration and close friend, who’s launching a vision we’re excited support.

Introducing Tèmi .earth : outerwear built for life’s twisted journeys.
Here’s what makes Tèmi different:
✨ Locally Made – Production brought home to the Bay Area, supporting local makers and craftspeople
✨ Sustainably Crafted – Responsibly produced with minimal environmental impact
✨ Functionally Beautiful – Urban style meets outdoor performance in every piece
✨ Community-Centered – Not just jackets, but a new way to think about connection through what we wear

Gabe’s approach is simple but powerful: create high-performance gear that honors both people and planet, with minimalist design that stands the test of time.
His Kickstarter is LIVE NOW for a limited time

Pull up to the movement. Back Tèmi and invest in a more thoughtful approach to outerwear.

Inspired by visual and written artist Roni Horn, Everetts WeGotNext Ambassador Project is an overland bike expedition route (over 2400 km) that physically links many of Iceland’s major glaciers with arts spaces and coastal communities that have themselves been impacted by the ever-changing socio-economic landscape created by industry and extraction.

I’ve also always felt a visceral connection to the dramatic landscape of Iceland. It is volatile, constantly changing. Growing. Sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly. I empathize with this heaving earth, the landscape of my own body cracked open and reshaped. There is comfort to be found in seeing the broken earth of my being mirrored in the land around me. To recognize that while the terrain seems hostile, it can also be delicate.

Art allows us to dream new worlds into existence, so why not use the same methodology for designing long distance bike routes? The more opportunities we have to meaningfully connect to the lands on which we travel the more deeply we are bound to them. It is in these moments of beauty and awe that the seeds of stewardship are planted.Through the practice of bikepacking I was able to draw a physical line between these sites to experience intersectional ideas around cultural composting, climate change, fluid bodies, weather, trans-species understanding and our willingness to see our part in the whole.

Nearly two decades before he became a scientist, rock climber, or telemark skier, WeGotNext Ambassador, Gabe Patterson , Ph.D. was a cowboy/buckaroo. His parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles were all stewards of the outdoors. Despite the cultural expectations of what “Black people do and don’t do,” the Pattersons, Hines, Lacours, and Dixons have always been connected to nature.

. . . it was there that Gabe would spend most weekends with Antonio and his family doing the basics of maintaining a livestock ranch - feeding cattle, fixing fences, filling water troughs, etc. The daily tasks generally occurred in the early morning, leaving ample afternoons for Antonio and Gabe, or "Buck and Smokey," to explore the flatlands and creeks and connect with the world of nature around them. In the absence of smartphones and TV reserved only for nighttime movies at the grandparent’s house across the road, their imaginations of being cowboys and buckaroos in the West would run wild!!

Stories told by underrepresented communities in outdoor spaces are lacking. This in turn is impacting participation. Underrepresented communities do not feel like they belong out in nature and are at a loss for where to begin. WeGotNext provides the scalable system our world needs to amplify the voices of underrepresented environmental leaders.

Without funding for the WeGotNext Ambassador Program these stories will continue to go unheard by the communities that would benefit from them the most. Through this transformation, we have the opportunity to broaden the coalition of people who truly see themselves in nature and want to work to protect our planet.

As we enter our third year, our ambassadors will present their stories to at least 5 audiences, totaling 25 community events. We expect to reach a minimum of 4500 people in underrepresented communities within the next 12 months.

Here is a little teaser of WeGotNext Ambassador, Niki Choo’s project . Her and her partner Jared set out on an epic adventure through the Yukon. They paddled over 1000 miles of remote rivers and expansive Yukon country. They completed their journey in Tuktuuyaqtuuk (place resembling a caribou), Canada, at the edge of the Beaufort Sea and in the Indigenous homelands of the Inuvialuit

WeGotNext amplifies individual stories of adventure and activism from communities that have been underrepresented in outdoor and environmental spaces.

The stories of WeGotNext Ambassadors serve to inspire individuals and remove barriers to become engaged in outdoor spaces, ensuring advocates on behalf of the environment for this generation and those to come.

Our Vision is a world where everyone is inspired to fall in love with nature because they see reflections of themselves in outdoor spaces.

“People only protect those things they love and you can’t love something unless you inherently identify with that”

The great outdoors should be accessible to everyone, but some minority groups feel unwelcome in those spaces because they don't see themselves reflected in the outdoor industry and media. WeGotNext is working to change this by amplifying individual stories of adventure and activism from communities....
