Cara Jones is CEO and co-founder of Marinus Analytics. She has managed the maturation and sustainability of the flagship software Traffic Jam since the company's founding and technology transfer from Carnegie Mellon University. She studied computer & systems engineering and technology management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. With a family tradition of public service, Cara is passionate about supporting public safety and the disruption of online harm. She has a deep wealth of experience in social entrepreneurship and the emerging safety tech sector.

For over a decade, Marinus Analytics has developed and delivered Traffic Jam, an innovative tool to index and analyze online marketplaces for “adult services”, enabling law enforcement to counter s*x trafficking at scale.

They currently partner with NCMEC National Center for Missing & Exploited Children & others.

Thierno Barry, 23, of Queens, New York, pleaded guilty today in U.S. District Court to the March 2025 swatting of a random Northwest residence and a subsequent carjacking of an elderly couple the same day at Union Station, announced U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro.

The Department of Justice announced yesterday that it is awarding more than $4.4 billion to support state, local and tribal public safety and community justice activities. The grants, from the Department’s Office of Justice Programs, will help build community capacity to curb violence, serve victims and youth and achieve fair outcomes through evidence-based criminal and juvenile justice strategies.

“These historic investments will allow communities across the country to tackle the serious public safety problems facing Americans today, helping to stem the tide of gun violence and the overdose crisis and foster trust and meaningful engagement between law enforcement and the community,” said Attorney General Merrick B. Garland. “The Department of Justice will spare no resource as we work with our state and local partners to realize the promise of a safe and just nation for all.”
