Public health win: After 11 infants were exposed to measles, health officials in Utah administered immune-boosting injections. No parents declined the treatment, no serious adverse reactions or issues were reported, and, most importantly, none of the infants contracted measles in the 21-day monitoring period.

The Utah Department of Health and Human Services has since developed this protocol for use across the state, which is experiencing its largest measles outbreak in 40 years. Read more in MedPage Today:
