The World Diplomacy Organization (WDO) expresses its deep concern over the alarming rise in the killing of journalists and media professionals during 2025. Around the world, journalists continue to face assassination, arbitrary detention, intimidation, censorship, enforced disappearance, and direct attacks while carrying out their professional duties.
According to international reports from UNESCO, the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), and the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), 2025 witnessed one of the deadliest years for media workers in recent history, particularly in conflict zones and politically unstable regions.

STATEMENT
World Diplomacy Organization (WDO)

17 May 2026

The World Diplomacy Organization (WDO) is closely monitoring the current international developments related to the spread of Hantavirus cases reported in several countries during 2026.

According to available public health information, the primary outbreak remains concentrated in Argentina, while additional imported cases and monitoring operations have been reported in several countries linked to international travel and maritime routes.

The World Diplomacy Organization emphasizes the importance of:

• Strengthening international health cooperation.
• Supporting transparent information sharing between states.
• Enhancing early monitoring and preventive response systems.
• Protecting public health without spreading fear or misinformation.
• Supporting coordinated international action through responsible diplomacy and global solidarity.

At the present time, international health authorities continue to assess the global risk level as low, and there is no declaration of a global pandemic emergency.

The World Diplomacy Organization calls upon governments, institutions, and civil society actors to continue supporting preventive awareness, scientific cooperation, and humanitarian coordination in order to preserve international health security and public stability.
