We are incredibly grateful to Vlasic Classic for their continued support of Freedom Grow and the cannabis prisoners and families we serve.
Their generous donation will help us finish our current round of commissary support for cannabis prisoners. The remaining funds will help provide books, magazines, prisoner outreach, and reentry assistance for people incarcerated for cannabis-related offenses and those returning home.

But this partnership means so much more than financial support. 💚

A special thank you to Vlasic Classic for inviting our board member Randy Lanier to spend time with everyone at the tournament, and for welcoming Peter, who Randy brought along.

Peter had only been home from prison for about one month, making the opportunity especially meaningful. He was able to speak directly to attendees about his experience in prison, his recent transition back into society, and the support he received from Freedom Grow along the way.

Giving someone who has so recently experienced incarceration the opportunity to share his own story and have his voice heard is incredibly powerful, and we are grateful to Vlasic Classic for giving Peter that platform.

💚 THANK YOU GOLDFLOWER & EVERYONE WHO SUPPORTS THE FREEDOM ROLL! 💚

Thanks to our incredible partnership with Goldflower and everyone who purchased the Freedom Roll, Freedom Grow's second-quarter donation provided funds toward a round of commissary support for approximately 230 individuals incarcerated for cannabis-related offenses.

Commissary support can mean food, hygiene products, communication with loved ones, and most importantly, a reminder that those still serving time for cannabis have not been forgotten.

Making this happen takes an amazing team of volunteers. Bobi keeps addresses and release information updated, Kristin purchases the money orders, Tracie fills them out by hand, Mitzi handles online commissary, and Kristi incorporates everything into our financial records. Randy spent months helping build this partnership and secure the donations, while Bill, Jeff, and Kristin helped organize and facilitate the collaboration. Stephanie's vision continues to inspire us.

To Goldflower, everyone supporting the Freedom Roll, and our dedicated volunteers, THANK YOU! Your support is directly reaching people behind prison walls and reminding them that they are not forgotten.

🎉 JUAN SALAZAR IS FINALLY FREE! 🎉

After serving 16 years of a 20-year sentence for conspiracy to possess ma*****na with intent to distribute, Juan Salazar has finally come home. ❤️

Sixteen years is a tremendous amount of time, years away from family, friends, and a world that changed dramatically while he was incarcerated.

Today, we are grateful to celebrate a new chapter for Juan as he begins rebuilding his life and adjusting to life after incarceration.

At Freedom Grow, we are especially happy that we were able to welcome Juan home with a reentry grant to help make that transition a little easier. 💚

Montana is stepping up!

Freedom Grow is proud to welcome Lionheart to Roundup for Freedom Grow at participating Montana locations.

Through Dutchie's Round-Up program, Lionheart customers will be able to voluntarily round up their purchase total at checkout. Those combined contributions will help Freedom Grow provide direct support to people incarcerated for cannabis and their families through commissary assistance, books and magazines, family outreach, reentry help and public education.

Thank you to the Lionheart team for recognizing that legal cannabis has a responsibility to the people still paying the price for prohibition.

Today is Edwin Rubis's birthday! He has been incarcerated for cannabis for 28 years! Please read what he wrote:

Today I turn 58 years old. And yes, I could let that number weigh me down. After all, I've spent 28 of those 58 years behind bars (simply for selling w**d, ma*****na, cannabis, or by whatever other name you call it nowadays). And also, I could list countless grievances I've suffered and continue to suffer here in the Big House, but would it change anything? My first son Nick was five years old when I was first arrested in 1998 (a lifetime ago, if you ask me). Now he's about to turn 33 - and I've never seen him since my incarceration ... I've never hugged him. The same goes for Keanu and Austin, my other two sons. I feel like I'm dead to them; buried alive in a place of darkness and solitude. What is there to celebrate today? Another birthday like the last 28 - no cake, no hugs, no smiles, no "Happy B-day song". Still, I am reminded, "You're still alive." Faith and hope subtly whispering, "Tomorrow can be a new beginning, a second chance." And so, if I'm to mark this birthday inside prison walls, I'll do it on my own terms. The family and friends who are still with me on this occasion matter to me deeply ("You" know who you are). I choose gratitude. I'll stand in front of an imaginary candle amidst suffering, and make my B-day wish: "Creator in Heaven, I want to be free, surrounded by my sons, my family, and friends who've stood by me!"
