Q: What is one project or accomplishment in your career that you're especially proud of?
A: "In the late 1980s, I designed and developed an innovative gravimetric fiber metering system that set a new industry standard by providing an auditable verification system for regulatory agencies when injecting cellulose-based fibers into asphalt pavements. During that same period, I also worked closely with cellulose manufacturers to develop some of the industry's first turnkey wall spray truck systems, helping advance the commercial application of wall spray-applied cellulose insulation."
Q: Looking ahead, what excites you most about the future of cellulose insulation and the role your company will play in advancing the industry?
A: "The future of cellulose insulation is both exciting and challenging. As an innovator and problem solver, I'm always looking ahead to identify the changes our industry will need before they become obvious. Cellulose manufacturers continue to refine their products with new fiber additives, denser packaging methods, and evolving formulations, while contractors face increasing labor costs and greater demands for productivity. Our role at Cool Machines is to stay ahead of those changes by developing equipment that helps contractors work faster, more efficiently, and more profitably — without compromising quality. Whether it's advancing fiber conditioning technology, improving machine performance, or introducing innovative solutions like our new Hyper-Speed Shredder, our goal is to provide the 'coolest' solutions that keep our customers one step ahead of the competition."
Q: What is your favorite part about being a member of CIMA?
A: "CIMA provides a wealth of technical information and educational resources that help companies like Cool Machines perform our work with greater accuracy, professionalism, and confidence. We are committed to continuously training both our team and our customers on industry best practices for cellulose insulation installation. Over the years, we have partnered with numerous cellulose manufacturers to promote the many benefits of cellulose insulation, and CIMA has been an invaluable resource in that effort."
