Our final Women's History Month post highlights , Community Relations Advisor for Shell Geismar and Convent.
Makesha supports Shell’s community and stakeholder engagement for all expansion projects and government affairs activities. Prior to joining Shell, Makesha served as the Director of Government Affairs for Louisiana Economic Development and worked as the Deputy Director of Policy and Legislative Affairs for Nebraska’s Department of Health and Human Services. She also spent some time in local government, serving as the Chief Service Officer in the Office of the Mayor-President for the City of Baton Rouge. With an impressive track-record for strategically navigating all levels of government, Makesha has worked tirelessly to pass significant pieces of legislation in support of the Film and Entertainment Industry in Louisiana, competitive business and industry tax incentives, and to protect and empower children and families both in the Louisiana and Nebraska state legislatures.
Named as a Top “40 Under 40” Young Professional by the Baton Rouge Business Report and a “Power Alumni” by HBCU Times Magazine, Makesha was recently featured at Essence Festival of Culture on the Global Black Economic Forum Mainstage. Makesha was appointed as a member of Louisiana’s HBCU Advisory Council, where she served as the co-chair of the Workforce & Economic Development Committee and was appointed by the Governor to serve as a member of Louisiana Women’s Policy and Research Commission.
A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Makesha Judson is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and proud alumna of Southern University and A&M College where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and Master’s Degree in Public Administration.
